Not quite convinced by that, Robbie, but Thorup's assistant adds a lot of experience to the coaching team which will also retain Narcís Pèlach and Andy Hughes for some continuity. These are good moves, but this is a big step change for the club as a whole. I like Thorup's words, but will wait to see what the squad looks like and how it all plays out on the pitch.

We know those two, plus Paul Clements, the goalkeeping coach, were not moved on together with Wagner and Bühler. But have you seen anything which says they will definitely be staying as part of Thorup's coaching team?
 
Johannes Hoff Thorup spoke to the media for the first time today alongside Ben Knapper. All felt very positive
