The system of playing.
The more I read about Walter’s style of football and watching those full Hamburg games online, the more it reminds me of Thiago Motta’s ‘2-7-2’ formation at Bologna where the numbers represent the vertical lines of players rather than the typical horizontal method of numbering in formations. The left-winger and left-back are a ‘2’, all the central players including the goalkeeper are the ‘7’ and the right-winger and right-back are the other ‘2’.
Both Walter and Motta have their keepers playing almost as a third centre-back in build-up. This is different from how Rosenior uses the keeper during build-up and even most positionist coaches like Guardiola, where the keeper is crucial to playing out from the back but usually stays in and around his own box. Hamburg’s keeper under Walter is almost near the centre circle during build-up, the two centre-backs push forward and rotate positions with the full-backs.

This is Motta’s system at Bologna.
Should be fun. But the KC crowd had enough trouble with Allsop passing to his CBs, they’re going to hate this
No one suggested Rosenior did or should have scouted the players, just that he have input on who was signed and not be pressured to play players if he didn't think they deserved a spot.
Right, so he didn't get forced to drop Allsop and play Pandur.
But when Pandur was dropped entirely, can you not see why that's a call which will be questioned, when the likes of Allsop letting in a few soft ones, and not utilising a goalscorer under the guise of 'fitness' whilst simultaneously selecting evidently 'less fit' wouldn't be a question any board would be asking in the end of season review?
Especially after significantly backing someone for the run in and ultimately dropping a place?
I'm absolutely not saying that sacking Liam was right, that will be proved in hindsight - but what I am saying is the board aren't nuts for asking the questions, and if the finance, scouting and recruitment network aren't matching then there's a decision to be made.
Whether right or wrong this will all be proven in hindsight.
And it's now on Acun, not the coach so far as he's just sacked a decent one. So go out and justify it.
Letting "LR" go was 100% correctHard to argue with that. The situation now is what it is and until we start seeing who we're going to be playing under, how we're going to be playing and who we end up bringing into the team, and how we use them, then there's no telling whether the decision to let LR go will have been the right move or not.
I think it was a hard decision to make and to take, but probably the right one in the long run.
I don't think allsop will be #1 but if he is and the overall style of play is more entertaining and attacking etc it won't be a bone of contention, I think Acun went in hard on it as it was the straw the broke the camels back but wouldn't have been as big of an issue if the other things weren't there either.
For what it's worth, my opinion that allsop won't want to be here
Letting "LR" go was 100% correct
Heckingbottom turns down Plymouth...watch this space!!!
Sounds like what we could do with, not impressed with what I've heard about Walter, especially with the size of squad rebuild required.
Senior players who will still be with us next season, as things currently stand;
GK: Allsop Ingram Pandur
DEF: Coyle Jones Greaves SMac Jacob Fleming Furlong
MID: Seri Tufan Slater Omur Jadan
ATT: Sweet **** All
No, he’s put them in ATT,Have Longman and Lokilo been sold?
Regardless of who comes in as Head Coach, we have another massive rebuild this summer.
Regardless of LR being sacked or not we had a massive rebuild needed this summer
