Rangers fans seem to continue a strong affiliation with their ex-players. When Hateley came to us there were about 20 of them that came every new year (or the first home game after) in the hospitality and had a weekend in Hull. It lasted well after he had ****ed off

Anyone know the detail of the origins of this smart graphic. I know it says Setanta in the top right, but I think that company finished in 2020 apart from former USSR states. So, anyone know where this comes from? I'm supposing Georgia and maybe the Setanta Website, but can find no trace

Brandon Fleming says Shota Arveladze has not tried to change too much following his appointment as Hull City manager last week, aside from one or two tactical tweaks.

The Georgian had just two training sessions to prepare his new players for last Saturday’s win over Swansea City, but the team delivered arguably their most complete showing of the season so far to win 2-0.

Arveladze’s appointment came just two days after Grant McCann left, in what was a busy week for the Tigers in the days following Acun Ilicali’s takeover of the club, and Fleming says the ex-Ajax striker has only made minor adjustments.

“He’s a great guy, he’s really caring and he’s very precise in the information that he gives, his intricate detail, positional stuff and things like that,” Fleming told Hull Live.

“I know that we’ll all learn a lot from him."

I saw Peter van der Veen walking around marina yesterday as I was waiting for a sandwich so he is here. Assume they’re still waiting for a work permit which is why they haven’t announced yet.

He was at the Swansea game too I think, at least I saw a photo of him. Merthan Acil is doing a lot for the club at present as well, not sure what his role will be, chief scout perhaps? He went to watch Millwall v Preston the other day. Probably also awaiting a work permit.

As VDV's work has been with the Dutch national youth, I'm hoping he'll improve us tactically and technically. With Shota, the same but with extra benefits the attacking guile.

I appreciate this is rather simplistic and respect that there are many variables, but for instance, there's been a few times when our pacey youthful forwards have not been able to expose veteran 30 somethings. I'm hoping that something more can be brought in this regard: more options and versatility.
