13 years ago in a friendly, that your man, Ange for the City job, wasn't involved? Wow, give him the job now. Then again he also wasn't involved when Iran stopped you qualifying for France '98, does that work against him? It's a tough call.

His record against poor sides is poor, although it appears he excels against part time pub teams.

Back to the point, may as well go for Basel manager Urs Fischer, Cahmpions League experience, did well with that.

I think it'll be Phelan, cheap option, unless the Allam's kick him out, can't see him quitting unless he's not offered it. He wanted the Norwich job by all accounts & when he was overlooked he quit!

Maybe he'd say to the Allams that it was none of his doing and if his ideas had been listened to then we'd have won the division easily….. I suspect he's has next to no contact with the Allams, seems perhaps Bruce has had very little (and yes I know its paper talk)

Phelan IMO is not a number one, if they go with him I cannot see it being successful.

I'm willing to give anyone a shot, PB was an assistant & did OK. It's just since he came here I've been expecting it if SB goes!

Above all, we need someone who's won their last 2 or 3 games,

Ohhhh we do get our knickers in a knot don't we Ben.
Brian was talking about Ange's Club record:

Angelos "Ange" Postecoglou is an Australian former football player and the head coach of the Australia national soccer team. He is the most successful Australian club coach with two premierships, four championships and a continental title.

Not much by British Standards of course but the poster was suggesting we need an attacking coach - my comments were merely that we didn't have the 'attackers' required to carry out such tactics.

    Lighten up a bit.

Rubbish him all you want but Postecoglou would be a brilliant manager for any side in the Championship. Do a bit of digging into his football philosophy and the imprint he has left on the Australian league, and the way he has the national team playing. He took an unfancied side to the World Cup and almost upset the Netherlands in a highly entertaining match.

Ange is unrealistic though as there's no way he'd come to City from the national side, but I've been screaming for months that we should be looking at Aaron Mooy, who is absolute quality and would add so much to our midfield. He'll likely be on the move in the summer to Man City who will be looking to loan him out, so I'd love us to have a look at him.

Don't blame you given his entire managerial career has been in Australia, but seriously before people rubbish the suggestion they should have a look at his history and philosophy. He would be absolutely brilliant, but would never come I don't think, unless we were PL and it was after the World Cup.

<laugh>. You wouldn't have heard of him outside of Australia but he has been very successful over here in the Australian A League which is how he got the "Socceroo's" post. Prior to him there has been some very high profile Coaches of the Australian National Team such as Terry Venables and Guus Hiddink so he is very highly regarded here.
