I've seen a few of these threads already and I've also seen some absolutely shocking suggestions for new head coach I'm my opinion.

Some of you lot wanting to see Laudrup and alike clearly have a short memory. Ian Holloway?! Even Joey Barton......seriously!

There is only one man, in my opinion, that we should break the bank to get.....Rowett. Birmingham were on a road to nowhere when he took over and now comfortably sitting in the play offs. We clearly missed the boat with Clement and Warburton and I really don't want someone who will only bring more negative press in Pearson.

We need a young, ambitious manager......we need a change. The board need to realise we are not going up and if we did it would just put us back even more then last year did.

Sell the players we should have sold in the summer and bring through the youth, whatever the outcome.

Can anyone name off hand any of Birminghams first team other then Gray maybe?! Not to say that's the standard but a TEAM is most definitely the desire.

The board have done some things right, some of the young lads have shown promise and the plan at the start of the season made sense, the board just chose the wrong man and didn't cut there losses and sell Austin/Fer/Sandro and Philips. They need to stick to the original plan. How short sighted are this board?

Get a young hungry manager in with Warnock there as No2 or similar and let's build something that could last.

Rowett for me, JFH if not.

Good post. I mentioned laudrup as he did similar things with Swansea. Wharburton would be good but unsure as to his buying ability. It's difficult as really needs to be right more than ever.

Not really. I can guarantee you Brighton won't finish top two and if they do go up Houghton will be gone by Xmas as he has done in his last two jobs he got promoted in.
Why would Eddie Howe come to us.
We need a young ambitious and hungry manager. That with the acquisition of young talented players and then if we do ever get promoted again, may be would could actually build on it.
I don't think it is a crap outlook. You seem like the text book doom and gloom qpr fan who longs for drama over stability

No money? who tells you that. Our owners have money and we have parachute payments. Agree we are now being careful with money due to FFP but the club does have money.
 
OP sounds like the Board will reappoint Ramsey again after he's finished his well earned break, with Colin staying on as his advisor. Beats waiting nearly 4 years again.

I don't want much any more just a manager who know about formations & what players can play where. For far too long we've been trying to fit round pegs into square holes so lets get a formation & the players playing how/where they should then maybe results will come.

After Colin's post match comments i believe that he will not be manger(until end of season) and that the board have a good idea or already know.
I will be fuming if its that muppet Sherwood. <steam>
For me it should be Warnock.

Surely Karl robinson fits the bill as ok MK struggling a bit last year but team he had to get out of league one was all about pace and goals - something we need now

I presume you mean "the board at QPR" rather than "Not606"? They've already changed the plan, it seems. They're using the fact that the galacticos (Fer, Austin, Phillips, etc.) didn't leave as the excuse, but I can't help but feel external business pressures on individuals (Hi, Mr. Fernandes) means some of the decision makers now need to see Rangers go up again this season because they need the money. Therefore, any rebuilding that doesn't achieve this immediately will just go to the wall in the chase for promotion - even though we all know how unready the club is and that we'd probably just come straight down again.

Depressing. I should have appreciated Jim Gregory more when I had the chance, but I was young and didn't understand....
 
We have to be one of the least tempting propositions going. Nobody would leave a job in the top two tiers to come to us - a club riddled with debt, whose most public owner sounds like he's part owned by Credit Suisse; a club with a string of managers, some high profile, some not, that can't make it work here and none that can last more than two years and fans that demand immediate success and an improvement from top to bottom.

If we want any experience then it'll be from an unemployed manager and will probably cost us a stupid wage. If we want someone on the up then they'll be League one or lower and will be considered inexperienced. The only alternative would be an assistant or coach at a higher level and Gerry Francis would be the only one who would vaguely fit the bill.
 
Sorry if this has already been posted but it seems Neil would be up for staying on for the foreseeable future...

Neil Warnock played down the prospect of him being given the QPR manager’s job on a full-time basis after the 0-0 draw against Preston, but said he hoped to be involved in the selection procedure.

“I’m going to enjoy it for however long I’ve got it - it’s better than being sat at home or fishing,” he said.

“Just being around the fans and the club again is fantastic. When I was asked to do it I had no hesitation. “I don’t know whether it’s going to be one game, two games or whatever, but I’m going to enjoy it and if I can I’m going to try to help them pick.

“I hope they ask me. They surely will ask my opinion. I think you need someone who knows the Championship. It’s the toughest league in Europe.”

I would like to see Neil stay until the end of this season rather than go appoint a recently sacked manager tbh!
