So despite the claims it would be Bruce and done today, it once again seems like we are back to square one, with not a clue who it will be or when it will be announced.
It can work two ways. Either they never had a clue in the firstplace and were just guessing because the betting went towards Bruce after Martinez said he was staying at Wigan. Or the sudden fall back position is confirmation it's Bruce we're after, and the Lambert situation has led to him wanting to hear what Norwich have to offer before committing. (Although I don't think it's the right time for someone to go to Norwich ahead of us, I would expect them to want to see what the situation was)
I'm not saying this is wrong, but this wouldve been written yesterday lunchtime at the latest. A lot happens in 24 hours in football....

I agree with BCC - I can't see this level of speculation being maintained just on the actions of the betting markets - the YP article reads like something that is not accounting for the events of the last 12 hours. The speculation is so insense at the moment - if Bruce "had never been considered" I would have thought he'd have publicly distanced himself from the job by now.
cant believe it... was quite happy last night knowing we've finally sorted out a new manager.. dont think i care so much who it is anymore.. just need to get it done.
OK, just a thought, if all 72 Football League Clubs are represented at the Conference in Portugal, I presume that it is Ehab Allam representing us. Is it just Dr Allam doing the interview final signing etc of the contract for our new manager. Or are we still quite a way from finding one?
100% correct. Bruce is far from a cheap option if it is indeed him. Much better chance also of getting Man Utd kids on loan.

I'm getting confused. Oddschanger say it still is Bruce, HDM and his agent say it isn't, ITV say next week, City say this weekend, Bruce and Clark haven't been interviewed, Bruce and Clark are new managers, anyone know anything.
I think I will hibernate until next Friday and then come back into the land of the living to see if anything is sorted. This is getting sooooooo tedius!

When Sven was sacked it took your owners 3 weeks to appoint a manager during the season when games were being played. It's just over a week since Barmby's sacking was finally confirmed and we were able to appoint a replacement, and we're in a position where there's nothing happening on the pitch and the majority of players (at all clubs) are now away on holiday or on international duty. There's no rush, despite what the more nervous posters might be feeling we're better taking our time now trying to get the right man comfortable than we'd be rushing out of the meetings because they've taken more than 10 minutes so that we can find someone who'll sign instantly.
