The Allams Have offered Steve Bruce the job and are now pressing for an Answer. from @reluctantnicko author of this Piece in The Mirror http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/hull-plan-new-steve-bruce-856360
I think the reality for most people is, no-one can stand him but he'd be a huge coup, and probably a success.
Has always struck me as one of those managers still living off his success as a player, did well at Wigan but has pretty much been an uninspiring step to the side, at best, anywhere else. Anyway, hope he does well as it would be great to see some Yorkshire teams in the PL. I'm hoping for a Leeds, Hull, Wednesday 123 next season.
Well all the betting companies have suspended the bets but one and that's Stan James at 4/6. So by the sounds of it Steve Bruce IS our new manager
I know I shouldn't be but I'm gobsmacked people can look at Bruce, if its confirmed tomorrow, and say stuff like we're his second choice, he'll have no money, and the skits about him paying for stuff...cmon guys, go to the kitchen and get yourselves a huge mug of cheer the **** up. Nicks gone, we're in a better position, yes it was a shame, yes it could have been dealt with better but deal with it and move on ffs.
A week ago Blackwell was the favourite, with the likes of Megson also thought to be on a 5 man shortlist. Who do you think we could get that would be better for improving our stature within the game, and acting as a calming influence to a massively Man U trained squad? (as well as maintaining our link with one of the best production lines in the country)
The only problem have with Bruce is that he'll up sticks the second he gets a sniff of a better offer. Probably leave us top of the league in January to join QPR, only for us to fall to 7th in the second half of the season
They know no better than to wallow in misery, negativity, and expect the worse of everybody and everything. It makes them happy.
i wouldnt be unhappy, but not ecstatic either..was just looking at his career etc.. 2 promotions with birmingham is obviously a plus point, but in the same stint so obviously a relegation in there too.. dont see what else he has done to warrant the hype, but i agree it certainly could have been a lot worse
I think hes better than we could have hoped for and I'm still trying to not get too giddy until its officially confirmed.
How does Jones set his teams up? (genuinely don't know) (I was referring more to continental style tactics than the manager themselves, but I realise that wasn't clear)
If this ends up being the case I want it to be known that I was THE FIRST person to make a ridiculous and tedious link to signing Fraizer Campbell over summer (YET AGAIN!)... If we do sign Bruce as manager then, when all of the rumours and contemplation start let it know that it originated here!
Are CI taking the piss? http://www.hullcityindependent.net/?page=news&news_id=950 They've been saying it's Mick McCarthy for weeks, and now they're claiming sources close to them have said that betting has closed? What sources? Twitter and the Betting firms? You heard it there first - well yes, I suppose I did - as long as I ignore everyone else who's been posting Bruce for the last three weeks.
I hope Im wrong but I get the feeling that if it is Bruce he will overspend on mediocre players but do reasonably well only to leave for a Prem job (prob in Jan) and we will have to start all over again
