Is Mad Dog on a wind-up, I have to question why would he announce it to the media before the club, does this make sense to anyone?

Mr Chairman will not be pleased but then welcome to the Mad Dog world <laugh>

Why would anyone say this:

He said: “I’m on my way to Gillingham. The press conference is at 4pm isn’t it?”

Well we'll know for sure at 4.

Is Scally going for a world record "April Fools Day Prank"?

Nah, I'm just kidding, it will be him.

Now I am more interested in the coach announcment.

COME ON MCLEOD ANNOUNCMENT!!

Come on, I can't wait much more, why do we have to wait till 4 Pm, I know Scally is busy with the council but surely the manager could just have been announced early.

I cannot understand why Scally wound chose M Allen. It is bonkers. Although Allen has done quite well as a manager he does not stay longer than 2 seasons ,where ever he has been, there is always trouble with him. Either the playersor board or chairmen. If he does well he will go to a bigger team if he does rubbish he will leave. What we need is manager who wants Gillingham to do well and stay loyal, he is not.
I would have chosen Sean Dyche who i believe is a very good young manager who would get the best out of the young promising players. If Scally wanted someone with more experence than i would have gone for fat Eddie Murphy lookalike Ince.

with the outcome of the appointment finally being upon us, i can only say i'm not happy at all about who it looks like will be announced (allen) <grr>

if thats scally looking at every option available, along with whats best for gillingham fc for now & the future...i'll run naked across the priestfield pitch on the opening day against bradford <party>

sorry but what a joke and i am very disappointed with the outcome to be !

hears looking at you scally :emoticon-0173-middl

I don't think he has had any, but this will hopefully be his first one, I think he can do it but the only worry is if he leaves before the season is out.

He doesnt have the major say in signings.. i find that disapointing.

Firstly, i beat you to it (HA! :1980_boogie_down: ) and also, i'm dont quite think that's what is being said. Rather that, as it has been for previous managers, transfer targets will be discussed with Scally and they will decide where to go from there. All that will happen now is that an extra man will be involved. 'Tis my take on it anyway...

We will be revealing our new manager to the press at 4pm but to find out first check the clubs official website.

Bit late?

Right first one to post the official link under a thread with the new managers name will have the lead thread. All other threads will be closed after such time to tidy up the board.

Ok.. Mad Dog it is! For my two pennies worth I am not wowed by this appoint, yes Allen has got a good record at this level but mainly at turning teams around rather than pushing for promotion (excluding his time at Cheltenham of course) and I still have concerns about his commitment to any club...

But I shall give him my full backing at the end of this post...

I love MArtin Allen and think he is the best thing to happen to this club ever
(Told you)
