It would take a very brave chairman to appoint Hope Powell, just look at the problem some people have with a female assistant referee!! I wouldn't mind Hope Powell getting the job, I think see would do well considering the massive strides forward she made with the English team... but would she be interested? I have only heard rumours, has she actually applied or is this just some media hijinks?

Andy Scott's odds have dropped to 6/1, very interesting. Has anything happened or is this just Sky Bet toying with us? 
All of it is unexplained it's just movement to keep it interesting. Scally has kept it quiet and I don't think we normally hear anything until a day or so before the appointment is made. Although it is funny that a news site also runs an online bookies 
Sky bet dont have a clue! He is always listed as Alex Scott! And they dont even list all the candidates! Still have Mark Robson in the betting etc!!

Don't worry mate, the Euro 2012 ends on Sunday 1st July and we will then probably announce a new manager around the 5th. Just saying
I know this has already been mentioned in the silly season thread. But doesn't any one else feel that David James would be a decent candidate as a possible player manager..?
If/When we sell Gazza, then he would be an ideal replacement for a least the first year while improving both Flitney and Hawkes. He should have some good contacts within the game and it makes sense of Scally appointing Hess as director of football so keeping James do deal with just the coaching side of things?? It may just work...
99% sure it will not happen though. As again looks like these online betting sites are just taking their leads from rumors on fans sites...

I was thinking about this last night and I have to say that he is an intelligent footballer (whenever you look at his interviews/ pundit work) and he has trained at the highest level whilst also having links with plenty of top coaches around the country. It could be a massive mistake, but at the same time it would be incredibly interesting!
It would also help improve the clubs profile in the media. Similar to the effect Paolo Di Canio had on Swindon.
I think it would be interesting, but he is a brainy guy, good footballer who has played at the highest level, massive risk but everyone is a risk.
