This is honestly the weirdest appointment of a new manager. Literally people naming names on here and then watching them appear in the odds, some of them to odds on
Can’t really see it being him, but whilst we’re without real news and throwing mud at the wall, he’s not got a bad record: https://www.sofascore.com/manager/razvan-lucescu/53730
I cannot think any Greek top tier team coming here considering all of them involved in European football there and usually they have good chances in Conference League. But on the other hand, Riera was in similar position. I feel like we are knocking all the doors one by one or waiting a league to be completed before name can be cleared out.
The other thing is neither Mike white or Baz are speculating on who he could be. They are only commenting on who it isn’t. As I remember Baz was the opposite on previous appointments
Baz won't want to ruin his relationship with Acun - he seems to have him on speed dial. It's encouraging that they're being secretive about it, suggests that it could be a good appointment
That's what I meant by "paid for shush" btw, I mean it doesn't have to be cash, he could be paid with stories now and future, there seems to be an agreement on being secretive about manager this season for sure.
Given Baz was given a seat at a dinner (which was essentially a boardroom meeting) last week I think it's probably in his interests to stay on side with Acun
Baz doesn't know what day it is. He hasn't a clue and neither has Mike White, or Acun. The person who accepts the offer on the table will get the job and I don't think anyone has taken it up yet. Probably thinking about it over the week end. Probably a couple of names in the frame. Both foreign. And if I were a gambling man I'd punt that Slavan Bilic is one of them. The obstacle could be the limit on what we can offer and obviously the candidates agent is trying to get the club to increase the offer. So we are all left wondering and waiting, including Acun.
Genuinely what evidence is there that Baz has no idea? Literally sat in on a board meeting last week and has the chairman’s ear.
