No, I don't think he does at all. Maybe what he was saying is that the name isn't one that's been in the media, in the betting, on social media (rather than someone we'd literally never heard of). Of course, all that's now changed if it is Riera! Hopefully it isn't someone else that we literally have never heard of, otherwise I would be very concerned!
The trend in football in Slovenia is high press - energetic play that cuts through a team passing out from the back. The national team do it very well. I think it’s a good tactic for our league. No idea if this guy also plays this way or if he’ll be given the tools to do it.
one of the reasons the championship is so tough compared to foreign leagues especially is becasue its 46 games theres 23 other teams with almost the same levels of budget(some exceptions of course) 46 league games is just a monumental challenge, and without those few exceptions, teams are very similar talent wise, its all about recruitment for the championship and if ours is wrong again, it really doesnt matter who the manager is or itll be a back to basics defensive priority to stay up from december again
If it is Riera, he actually needs to be given time and a bit of faith. If it’s ’top 6 or you’re sacked’ again then we’re back to square one. Unless we’re in a relegation fight, he needs to be given more than 12 months in the job.

I'm kind of sick of hearing details about a prospective new manager's playing style when we've been here so many times before and we know that whatever is said about him now, it will only take a couple of home defeats where we struggle to break down a defence before that will all be forgotten and he's pigeon-holed as a defensive manager, playing boring slow football, always picking Slater when he shouldn't, etc etc.
Acun seems to want an exciting, attacking team fighting in or around the play offs but with a lower half of the table squad and inexperienced managers.
Also, as frustrating as it is to watch City attempt to break down an average team that sits deep, no team in this league have a God-given right to roll over another team because they’re better in theory. Sunderland supporters were probably frustrated and annoyed that we beat them and kept a clean sheet at their place.
bit off topic but this makes me think is it better for us and the champ if sheff u win the playoff? if sunderland go up and come back down, thats another team with parachute money, sheff u have another 2 years is it? if they stay down rather them go up again and finish bottom, and limit the teams with the parachutes
I’ve theee questions 1) Has he only ever played one formation in his life, like our last 3 managers. 2) Does he like 60% possession with the goalkeeper having 40% of that 60%. 3) Does he like to rent or buy? I’d maybe suggest a rental.
