I'd have no issue with Muslic being appointed, though it would feel like we'd sacked Selles, to replace him with Selles.
The more I think about it the more I realise Selles wasn’t all that, shouldn’t have appointed him in the first place was a mistake to over look experience first time round. Some of the footy and conservative nature in the run in was embarrassing and Selles was questioned heavily after every game.
Agreed she could do a job for us. Get the players shooting from all angles. Working the channels. Improve their finishing. Some quality dribbling out from the back...
Acun seems to want his cake and to eat it. He's gone for young, inexperienced, yet promising managers, but doesn't give them the time to develop. If he wants quick success he needs to roll the dice and pay for it. Karanka, Martin, Jokanovic, Dysche, Cooper, Bielsa. I'm not suggesting they'd all want to come, but that's the stature needed given the timescales Acun seems to afford his managers.
And yet it worked; we weren't relegated. I don't feel that sacking Selles is the catastrophic error that sacking Rosenior obviously was, however the fact that we (once again) haven't got a replacement lined up and are possibly just going to go with a like for like replacement pulled from out the basket of what's readily available - now the first choice racist has been binned - is a shoddy situation at a time when what is clearly needed is some stability and competent planning.
Wouldn’t mind Carlos Corberan. He took over at Valencia who were staring at relegation and guided them to safety, only Barcelona and Real Madrid have a better record since he took over. And who wouldn’t prefer life in Hull over Valencia. He is as realistic a target as some of the names bandied about.
I have never seen so much rubbish floating around in the sea as I saw in Valencia. There is also not much to do there and the deep > the oceanografic. The only thing Valencia has going in its favour is the weather and the public transport system, which are both much better than Hull. Otherwise it’s an easy choice.
