Norwich City have just appointed their first ever manager born in Norwich. (Wonder if they will be singing songs about his nanna?). Seems they have some fans as positive as ours going by the first comment in their local paper after his appointment. “Good Luck Liam - Prepare for your best players being sold just before the season starts, being advised we are a self funding club with no financial resources ( especially during the winter transfer window), lots of sick note’ injuries (particularly players that were gonna be game changers), ownership with no apparent ambition, directors with no footballing experience or clue and the fact we are in our 3rd or 4th consecutive transition season - plus it will be all your fault when it all goes pear shaped.”
Fans of the club he left, Bristol City, have a very similar opinion of their ownership. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
You're just jealous, they're still unveiling statues of 'me'. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Can’t see why. He has ploughed a lot of money into them. And into Bristol Bears RU club who have been getting crowds of 20,000 as well as women’s teams.
They seem to have the opinion he's more interested in the rugby team. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
On a serious note, it’s reassuring to hear Jakirović is personable and has a good relationship with players wherever he goes. That was Walter’s biggest problem.
Was it? I thought Walter was quite renowned for being well liked. More so problematic with the press.
I am just listening it to it now. Sounds very promising, I like the mentioning of how he laid the foundations at Rijeka for them to become the champions this season. Shows he’s done a project style job, also had a more pragmatic job this season in Turkey. Growing more and more towards this appointment
I'm happy having a manager not wedded to one formation. Sick of managers who just play one way and force players into a shape.
Yep, his most recent job seems to have humbled his approach in a good way. Especially with the likes of Ipswich and Southampton down
