What influence does a new manager/coach have over playing staff? We’re still being linked with players without a manager. Herein lies the problem - here’s your team, top 6 is the minimum requirement. With no doubt no striker for the umpteenth season. On a hiding to nothing.
You jest But if acun was fulhams owner He 100% would have sacked him This summer at the latest Fenerbache change managers every 14 months or something on average
Very little. The distinction between a manager and a head coach is the former has more authority over scouting and signings whereas the latter doesn’t. Bruce was a manager and had freedom to identify players he wanted to sign with Allam’s approval. For head coaches, it’s the other way round. The recruitment team create huge lists of potential targets and put them to the head coach and he gives his opinion but ultimately it’s the chairman who decides.
and there, in a nutshell, is our problem. This is why we always end up with a completely unbalanced squad, with no pace, no physicality and no ****ing goal scorers.
What about the guy from the drama’s, he’s still on gardening leave. The West Brom link seems to have gone quiet
So ultimately they baffle them with bullshit And look good producing all sorts of data from the khazak league or some other ****jng outpost Meanwhile Stan ternent drove about in an Old Ford mondeo with a notebook and a pen he nicked from Argos I know who I’d trust
Looks like an Acun pick. Another Spaniard who had lots of gigs as a player including Man City Liverpool and Watford (so he is familiar with management churn). I presume Acun is very aware of him from his Turkey days and now his time with Celje given Acuns time with Maribor. He look very promising sort of in the mold of Selles dare I say but with a playing career of note, but I thought the same about Selles and although he tightened up our defense got City playing some of the worst football I have ever seen them play-so who knows.
Ha, unless I’m mistaken , all promoted in their first full season . That’s what the cream of the crop do, if the replacement isn’t up to that job, get him out and get the next one in, find the right one eventually
The thing I don’t get is why Acun keeps going for young coaches who are bound to make mistakes and develop, like Rosenior and Sellés, and then **** them off because they didn’t meet his unrealistic expectations or he doesn’t like the style of play. Did he not do any research on Rosenior and Sellés? Cooper said Alex Neil interviewed for the job and impressed Dublin a lot but Acun was fixated on Sellés instead. If you’re going to turn down an experienced coach like Neil in favour of Sellés, you need to give Sellés more than six months. Riera actually seems like a decent candidate but he’s in the exact same mould as Rosenior and Sellés. He’s noted as having good interpersonal skills with players (something @PLT mentioned as an understated quality in a coach) whilst having high standards and discipline. He’s also young and will make mistakes. What does Acun actually want if he’s not prepared to commit to giving a coach 2-3 years at least? He may as well just hire and fire the likes of Allardyce and other dinosaurs who’ve ’been there and done it’.
yep its pointless once we hit a run of bad form, itll be adios you cant hire young managers and expect them to be perfect its the type of manager you stick with over a few seasons, you either buy into them or you dont why are we not beating teams 5-0 like leeds did? what do you mean its becasue we have pedro and joseph up front??
i def think the fact alex neil looks about 60 goes against him he's only 43, he's got immense potential
