Except Since stoke were relegated from the prem They havent had one top half championship finish So i think its far deeper than any manager So i dont think that has any bearing on him
This is the thing. Every manager is one that a case can be made for, that we should be excited about for one reason or another, or at least give them our full support. Until we inevitably get beat 1-0 at home by a **** side a couple of times, and then all bets are off.
Jakirovic is OK dude guys, I know I already said he is not the most stellar one in Turkey but he is definitely one of those who had a good season with good background. My only issue with this appointment, beside all those brain team bla bla talk, once again it has Acun fingerprints all over it.
The amount of clubs he’s had as a player and a coach is a bit concerning to me too. His tactics and points per game may well be decent but he looks like a bit of a mercenary.
If you manage Maribor, Rijeka, Dinamo and that Bosnian local team, it is normal to have good ppgs, only suprising one is last one with Kayseri. It is a bit like managing Real Madrid in Spanish league.
The first benchmarks he needs to meet - the players have to like him - be able to set up a good defensive shape
I did say pedro may move on, and I did previously say bring in an experienced striker and burstow and Joseph can learn and show their potential Mcburnie would be a start.
Fair point, although he hasn’t always been successful or well thought of at other clubs he’s managed, so as with a lot of managers at a lot of different levels, the rest of the structure has a big influence.
You can be prepared to give him a chance whilst simultaneously be sceptical about his knowledge of the English leagues and also be wary that Acun appears to be learning nothing. Whilst I’m still underwhelmed about the manager switch in the first place, I have to say I’m very pleased to hear this new guy has got a decent win record at multiple clubs and also seems to like a good defence. As someone else said, he already seems a better bet than Walter and Shota.
First thing he's got to do, is win over the players, some of whom were fuming over Selles being sacked.
Due to the amount of clubs he has played at and managed I would not say his contacts to this role are not likely good, quite the opposite I would imagine.
Some were fuming when Rosenior was sacked to, but they get paid to play and hopefully if they don’t then they will get moved out.
Or get rid of the little cry babies? I'm sure Selles or Liam Rosenior will be desperately trying to sign them somewhere else considering how they stamped their feet about their dismissal. These players are part of the reason we are where we are.
