They should think of him a little better than that, he brought in huge fees on BBD and Armstrong who haven't done much since.
no idea about this new guy but unless we get the recruitment really right, it wont matter who the manager is this is another survival season unless proven otherwise
If he is appointed I’ve got a radical idea. How about we give the guy a chance before we right him off, eh?
Or they're thinking whats the point in challenging it anymore... It's always the same people getting hysterical before anything has happened anyways. You can already tell some minds have been made up on Jakirovic and although im catching up still, as far as I'm aware he's not even been announced yet. So unless he wins his first 5 games 4-0 he's going to be battling people saying things like: "I'm underwhelmed but I'll back him", followed after the first game we falter with "He doesn't know what he's doing, never should have got rid of Rosenior, Acun fails again". That's excellent backing isn't it. People just make **** up on here to suit whatever angle they want to peddle as well. Saw someone yesterday conclude he couldn't possibly have been our first choice appointment because other names had been rumoured. You could say that about any manager going to any club by that logic, but that theme specifically will pick up steam on here over the next few weeks and for some, will become reality. Whoever the manager is, we need to welcome him to the club and give him time to see what he can do. The club need to support him by getting him the right tools to do the job. Right now there's no more to it than that.
I'm personally fine with Jak I just find the whole thing hilarious at this stage as Acun doesn't seem to have a clue what he wants.
Agree with all of the above. My post was in response to OLM, who told us to sit back and see what happens - which is all we can do as we are not the ones making the decisions. I'd much rather prefer a manager with Championship experience - although others have come into the championship without prior experience and done well. Our record in appointing managers from overseas has been pretty woeful, which makes me nervous about this guy. The Championship is unforgiving and as I said in another post if a manager isn't up to it, he will be found out sooner rather than later.
I hope this manager is indeed more pragmatic and defensive oriented It will mean he has a greater chance of success
We got Joseph and Pedro atm , pedro may still move on and we have burstow and Kamara who need games so one experienced striker would be good enough, play the ones we have other teams do and find out they got stars on their hands.
Pedro is only being retained so we can get some money for him - apparently clubs are interested. Joseph and Burstow can't hit a barn door - what was it? Something like 37 appearances between them and 2 goals? Kamara is not a striker. We need a couple of bullies up front instead of the total lightweights we have had all season
I have no idea who on the brain team decided to sign Burstow? There wasn’t much positivity about him before he came, and there’s not much on the pitch to make me think otherwise. He needs a year in League 1 starting game, but a crazy signing really.
It's not about "making **** up" though. There are known facts about Jakirovic and our track record that have people rightly concerned. Like Walter and Shota, zero experience in this country. For a combination of reasons, he's jumped from one job to another, in minor leagues, so it's hard to judge (just as he did as a player - 21 moves!!) . Contacts relevant to this role are not likely that good. Of course he needs the right tools to do the job, but it's hard to argue anything other than it being another massive punt. New to the Championship, new to the country. Seems many are concerned, and understandably so imo. I was expecting different this time. It's a gamble. Maybe they think he can attract some gems from leagues he knows? Hopefully it's an inspired gamble.
I won't lie, I'm nervous about this appointment. Acun doesn't have a great picking managers. But I will say I'm more confident Jakirovic then both Walters and Shota.
