Off Topic New Manager... who would you like..?

Who's saying it is? All I'm seeing is folk trying to spin the idea it's a good one with no evidence either.

It's probably irrelevant anyway. Greater forces than who the head coach is at this football club will determine it's success or failure.

 

Except that when he fails then it's done and no use complaining about.

 

Give the new guy a decent strong squad then he has a chance .

Came here to post groundhog day but somebody else has done it. The owner is wilfully not appointing experienced Championship managers which is what we are absolutely crying out for. I suppose we will find out why at a future date . I never thought I would say this but this is getting as bad as when the Allams spat their dummy out .

 

Exactly. When you are facing a likely relegation battle, experience would be the sensible way to go!

 

I dont think anyone is spinning he is a good appointment as very few if any dont know him or about his game style, it's as daft as saying he is a crap one. Until we see first hand what he is about I won't make judgement, to say he is defensive is also daft, as again we are going on sound bites, and who knows what players are at his disposal. From his record we certainly gets wins, albeit in foreign leagues, twt as to how he adapts, and if that winning trend continues. We would ha e all liked a good championship manager with a wealth of experience, but who's to say that would work here, working alongside Acun.

 

Or just going off his style of play at previous clubs..?

 

Like most on here very sceptical..But hey let's get behind whoever and hope they are given some tools to achieve some success..ie some quality playing additions

Yeah I hated when we appointed the dull, boring Steve Bruce and he got us a no fuss, dull promotion to the PL.

Well this one looks like he will scare the **** out of the players so coyle will keep his shirt on.

 

The pool of experienced managers that are also realistic is basically Michael Beale.

I would’ve loved someone who knows this league but our recent reputation combined with a couple bigger teams needing managers puts us way down the pecking order.

 

I think we could have realistically got Mowbray in, who while some may not have liked I think would have been right up Acun's alley in terms of style of football and developing youth and knows the league well.

 

Part of me thinks he wants his last job to be someone that’s not as unstable as us at keeping their manager

 

as someone absolutely in the know, i took a few days off as i knew there would be no managerial appointment pre weekend
acun is also a rather fantastic owner

 

Wasn’t highly thought of by the fan base at Blackburn and certainly not towards the end of his tenure. They wanted him gone long before he went.
