Hasn’t the current regime been slated before over lost signings , as everything made public too early ? . Maybe this time they are being professional and conducting business behind closed doors , maybe the fact the bookies don’t have a clue is refreshing . Maybe not but let’s see the end result first before Judging.
I agree with you for what it’s worth. I think people are just a bit panicky because we’ve been let down my promises of grandeur from Acun before. Combine this with the fact as you say they’ve seemed to have kept the name under wraps other than maybe someone guessing it randomly it just doesn’t feel like the norm
Any leaks or speculation in previous campaigns to recruit a coach can only have come from the top of the tree...Maybe,just maybe,he's learned to put a sock in it?
Black Ops - code amber/free baz : press release. In the early hours of Wednesday morning ex members of the Hull City Psychos conducted a raid on a hotel in Mayfair. On entering the hotel room a man was found tied to a chair wearing a pink jumper with a soiled pair of Nottingham Forest boxer shorts stuffed in his mouth. On removing the hood the man, unfortunately, was not Baz Cooper. In typical city fashion its all gone pear shaped. The hostage was Little Vern. It appears Big Vern got here first on a rogue operation and has done his own hostage exchange. It is believed Baz has been taken back to Hull where he is being held in a secret location gaffer taped to a girlfriend of Vern's zimmer frame and is still refusing to reveal the name of the new Hull City manager. We are now focusing the search on the Hedon Road and Orchard Park areas of Hull. To be continued...
No coincidence that 'BradyMk2' hasn't been seen since Monday(When he was spotted at Currys purchasing a chest freezer)..This isn't going to end well!!!
Or, Brady is Baz and he is on holiday this week? That’s why his predictions are always so accura………………. oh hang on
To be fair, after Emre was squashed, the names are only flying round speculatively amongst the fans, and the news sites are reporting the changing in the betting odds which appear to be driven by bets from posters on here. Baz seems to know but isn't saying due to the threat of Mayfair mau mau.
It is good that they're successfully keeping it quiet, but I'd much rather we already had a manager than still be looking for one, and I think Kalman made a good point about having your plans lined up in advance rather than doing everything reactively. As soon as it was mentioned that we were going to start thinking about the manager's position after the season had ended (which later turned out to be 10 days after) that seemed ridiculous to me, surely you do all that thinking in advance and on an ongoing basis rather than needing to wait for the season to end (and then another 10 days) to start talking about it. There must be value in being ready as soon as possible; Selles was watching playoff games as our manager in mid May and he obviously thought there was importance to that. There must be loads of planning of transfers and pre-season and other things to do; we're told this stuff happens months before the season ends but then when the manager changes surely it needs rethinking, and surely we need to do that with some urgency rather than waiting until the first day of pre season for the manager to start, and then there's the issues of getting his feet under the table, finding somewhere for his family who inevitably have to move here from abroad. And then there's the retained list, which for the second year running has been finalised with no manager at the club; maybe Walter would've loved to keep Adama Traore or maybe our new manager this season would've wanted Pedro gone, we'll never know but in both cases they weren't here to have an input. There's so many reasons to get moving as soon as possible and not be relaxed about it taking time. All of these things are also reasons why I would prefer us to be much more careful about changing managers so often in the first place. It is a huge upheaval and this is a crucial period of preparation for clubs.
Having plans to replace the manager all laid out in advance is all well and good but those plans would have inevitably leaked out before end of season which would have put our survival at even more risk.
Personally think hearing nowt speaks volumes, Baz being the puppet to suggest we have a target sounds like bollox to me, personally think they're struggling and those they want, don't want us given our recent history of hiring and firing.
Tbh, I did hear from a 'sauce' (brown) in the week before our final game that he was on his way and posted on here that I was hoping it was BS. Turns out it wasn't. Dangerous game, it could have backfired badly.
There was an article back in February or March I think that said Selles' plans for pre season were already well underway and he was trying to organise stuff way back then. A manager coming in over the Summer will need to have pre season plans ready to go, we can't afford to **** about this Summer. Again.
I had a gut feeling he'd dump him,I think a fair few of us did? Obviously Selle's was kept in the dark that he was a dead man walking and as such celebrated with the fans and players at full time and even went about his business the following week, attending other games etc. I personally think it was poor treatment,he could've and should've took him aside at full time and said 'sorry mate,it's not working,I'm going to have to let you go'.Instead of that it was plastered over newspapers that he was chairing a meeting about the blokes future... Shoddy in my book and it won't be lost on potential targets..
