I was surprised when you said it was packed as I looked at tickets last weekend and there were tons on sale, I was worried it would be embarrassing for him talking to an empty place. I wonder if they gave a load away or something?
I just cant imagine all of those tickets selling in 3 days. When I looked there were even seats left near the front row, hardly any on the top and tons in the main section. Perhaps the online system was playing up.
Hardly any of them sold in the run up. Either they opened up the doors to let anyone in, or it wasn't as full as it may have seemed
I booked back in Ocotber, keen. I’d say it was 75% full and I recognised a lot of people there, I don’t think they’d given many tickets away. Seemed a genuine crowd.
Did you buy any? The downstairs looked pretty full to me and If you think that Hull City Council would just open the doors and let anyone walk in for free you are in cloud cuckoo land. It took a while to get in and passed security even when you had a ticket.
Correct, so that should bring you to the second part of my OR statement. I didn't attend, so I'm not using my eyeballs to guess the number of tickets sold. I'm not guessing at all.
Latest odds with the bookies according to the Fail Here's a look at the early running, which is guaranteed to change in the coming hours and days.... Tom Cleverley: 4/1 Tony Mowbray: 5/1 Andrew Crofts: 8/1 Luke Williams: 8/1 Rob Edwards: 12/1 Gary O'Neil: 12/1 Marti Cifuentes: 14/1 Richie Wellens: 14/1 Russell Martin: 14/1 Will Still: 16/1 Nathan Jones: 16/1 Steve Cooper: 16/1
Rob Edwards or Gary O'Neil for me. At the end of the day they'll choose the cheapest as usual (I guess)
Can't imagine he would come here. He's built a decent reputation and can probably bide his time waiting for a more appealing job.
What no Sinik? Knows the club inside out, must know at least some of the players and the physios. On good terms with the owner.
Hmmm, not sure that makes sense. Just because you play for another country doesn't mean you are foreign. If the FA (or whoever enforces the rules) had tried to exclude Bruce on those grounds I'm sure the legal standing of that would be easily questioned. All they would have to do is show a passport. and were RoI even classed as foreign? I know that they are a foreign country but the CTA (which predates EU) means individuals are often not treated as such ... "For example, in the early 1990s, the FA implemented a "3+2" rule, which allowed clubs to field a maximum of three foreign players and two "assimilated" foreign players (players who had been with the club for a long time). However, Irish players were not considered foreign under these rules, thanks to the CTA and the historical ties between the countries." Maybe its like his police escort story at Sunderland? Utter bullshit.
I think he was mentioned before Liam R was appointed or was it Walter..? I had to look up Andrew Crofts... interesting he's quoted...
Sunderland were after him and even appointed a caretaker for half a season in order to be ready for his departure from Reims, only for him to jilt them in favour of Lens. I would have thought zero chance of him ending up here.
Strikes me that Mowbray might be the most likely out of that bunch. Seems to be happy adopting a coaching role making the most of the players others bring in (at least until results go the wrong way and he blames lack of control over transfers as the reason).
