Pellegrini may just have one last chip that he's like to knock off his shoulder following his exit from City. He may just do more than cover it in Mayo :)

How about Pellegrini on a three year deal in which he co-manages with Fonte in that third season?
I think Fonte needs to go to a lesser club outside the top 6 to learn his trade; Liverpool, Chelsea, West Ham, Everton etc. Then use them as a stepping stone to come back to us to defend the Champion's League...

Article from Telegraph saying that Howe was approached via intermediaries, but both parties wary of a manager from a club so close on the South Coast. AVB was never considered. Suggests Garcia is a serious consideration, but the article also alludes to an unknown foreign manager (mystery man, I assume).

Love having a Board who knows what's what. Extra confidence in them for this.

Morning all, been away from all things electronic for a while.

I see pellegrini is now the favourite - what has caused that? Is it credible? Hell of a signing if we pull that off.

On the link I added JS says that Pellegini's agent contacted Saints, who probably weren't interested but when they spoke to him something changed their mind's and he is now being considered.

Also Garcia isn't 100% out of the running either but unlikely.

All of this could of course be the fantasies of a utter loon - I don't know.

That Jack S bloke is at it again on Sotonian. It depends on how accurate you think his last missive was but here's a link to the page it is on anyway:

I like the way he openly admits that the club are basically leaking stuff on purpose "to prepare the ground" - I mean, I don't think any of we're naive enough to believe the club weren't feeding things they can't say officially on purpose to certain "ITK" supporters, but it's nice to have it confirmed.

To me Pellegrini is a clear statement of intent and carries prestige whereas Puel is not either sadly.
Yeah, I think I agree. Any players thinking 'oh crumbs, Ronald's gone - is everything alright?' would have those fears allayed by turning up for pre-season and seeing Manuel walking through the door, fresh from a UCL semi-final with Man City and with extensive experience under his belt.

He'd also help us to combat the negative narrative some like to run against the club.

However, I don't think Les and co care about that and it won't cloud their judgement. If Pellegrini is the new boss, it'll be because they thought he was the best man for the job with us at the moment. I still think it'll be an outsider, and if I had to guess, I'd go with Puel.

Pellegrini would be a pleasant surprise, though.
