New Manager Thread

Nothing to do with Saints Managers but I'm just writing a message about Fable on Beefy's at the moment.

 

Really confuses me when people have a bad opinion of someone because they haven't heard of them. If you don't know anything about someone you can't have a well formed opinion on them!

 

Would be interesting to see what people said about Koeman two years ago? Yes he was a hugely successful player, but had been sacked multiple times and had 3 good seasons in the Dutch league which is slightly weaker then the French league. Puel has stayed at multiple clubs for a while and been successful in some way in all of them. Really don't understand why some people are so disappointed.

 

Personally I'm backing the new guy to the hilt. I want him to do well and for his tenure at saints to be a positive one. Whether or not he is a success will be revealed in due course but for now Claude is the man!

 

Eric Black is coming in as part of the new management team (according to k.billy on saints web)

 

So the guy on Twitter who said Lee out and Black in is obviously ITK.

Now the Remi Garde comparisons can really begin from the ignoramases out there!

He's a very good coach by all accounts, it's unfair to judge him on the past few years at Villa.

Edit - just realised he's only been at Villa since January. Weird, I thought he'd been there ages.

 

He was only brought in by Villa at the end of Jan. He may not even be assistant manager.

 

Yeah I know. But he was hopeless - hopeless when he was caretaker manager!

 

Hopeless and spineless, has to be said. Not impressed with that at all.

 

Thankfully he's not going to be our manager. Some excellent coaches dont make good managers.

And who would be a decent manager with that Villa side? The damage was already done when he took over!

 

there's a difference from being a great manager of a **** team with no support and a great manager of great team with great support! obviously he's a step up as everyone has been for the 5 years! COYRs !!! (4th next year?)

Again, I trust the board, but I watch a fair bit of Villa and if anything he made them worse when he took over. Didn't seem to have the respect of the players at all.
I know that technically doesn't mean anything as he will be a coach, not a manager but IMO, it's not a good sign.
Fingers crossed it works out!

 

Do you know much about Eric Black? Pretty highly thought of coach and fluent in several languages!

 

Didn't have the respect of the fans either. They were happy to lose without Lescott & a couple others in the team, but he carried on selecting them. The game at Villa park (4-2) was an absolute joke & he took a lot of abuse. Next game, same team.

 

Not really Tom. You're young and will learn, but I'd hardly call you a crock of ****. You're being too hard on yourself.
