Perhaps the delay after yesterday's statement that an appointment was imminent is down to terms. The would-be person is arguing over the length of the contract, which means basically given our history the amount of compensation due when he is dismissed.

I don't see any obvious replacement, the Sheffield manager seems to be doing well but there's no chance he'll jump ship for us

Benitez, as mentioned by several on here, would be a great shout. I doubt we will pay up that much, and I also doubt he'd be happy working within the current structure.

Basically, it's not looking promising...

I'm pleased that they've put HM in charge for now. It will be interesting to see how the players respond to him, he's had a couple of stuffings with the U23's and yet has done very well with them overall. Maybe he'll shake the first team up a bit... he has nothing to lose!
I'm hoping he can buy some time to allow the Three Amigos to get their man. I'm sure Dalian Yifang will say "you for coffee" to any approach for Rafa, but desperate times require desperate measures!

Well, well, well what a lovely mess the club are in now.

Give Mullins a run as it seems ever other manager they have contacted have mulled over it and realsied that it is not worth it. Getting 3r of 4th choice is like just going back to Mazzarri.

Good luck to Mullins, he'll need it.

Yes it's all a bit depressing at the moment. But it's also a bit random. VAR has denied us 6 points. If every other team can claim that then forget it, but I doubt it. The injuries might be the fault of the clubs choice of back room staff, but there's no doubt they have made it more difficult for a club with WFC's resources. From my observations - all home games and a couple away, all we need is a reliable goal scorer. That is all ! We play decent football, have good players and systems, have a good goalkeeper or 3 (BTW in the Burnley game, who was Mom - Pope ! ). Maybe we over achieved last season- got a bit lucky, got a bit complacent in recruitment.
However, and we should remember this - we are owned by football people (person) who believe in the club in the community, believe in what a top flight club can do for the suppporters , the community and are not a) carpetbaggers, b) using football to wash away their crimes c) launder their illicit income d) milk the system for their own benefit.
