That's a fair point but if he waves his cheque book at John Moushino he will come. Trust me!
OK, now my knowledge of Selles is somewhat vague other then he had a short stint at Southampton, and is now at Reading, I've had a look at the stats, and it's hardly awe inspiring, can anyone give a resume on why he'd be good for us ? And this isn't slating the bloke, but just don't know about the fella or his style of play etc, I need to know if I'm to get excited or further depressed !
Perhaps a little reductive but a bit like a Spanish Rosenior.

“When you can find a way to do it that represents who you are as a person, what you are as a team and give an identity to the club, that is fantastic.

Selles expanded on his coaching philosophy and the way he intends his teams to play.
He continued: “My idea of football is always based in high-intensity moments, especially in defensive actions. We should be very dynamic and defend far away from the goal. Remember: we press to score goals.
“In possession, we should be organised and arrive very quick into the final third. We want to be vertical.
“We must be able to combine to arrive in the final third or, when it makes sense, break the lines with most combinative build-up.
“The organisation in possession is very important. My team should be able to apply a high level of counter-pressure, to get a lot from transitions when we regain the ball. We love the ‘organised chaos’.
I think we want to be vertical is his way of saying ‘Ger it forward!’

Kept Reading up last season's despite players not getting paid and a points deduction.
Has them in the playoffs mix this season under similar conditions having seen a promised takeover fall through.
Basically it's the job he's done in the circumstances he's been working under which makes him an attractive prospect.
Did his nose grow longer when he said he was going to give Tim more time but fan reaction at the Wednesday game changed his mind...

Alex Neil would be a good get, I think people just see that he's an oldish, bald manager and think he's a boring appointment, but he was good with Norwich and he's the only one to have managed a Sunderland promotion in donkeys.
I’m the same, he wouldn’t be my first choice but he’s got the experience and he’s done a decent job everywhere except maybe Stoke. The last guy to do a decent job there was pulis and even he got sacked in the end, then everyone since.
On the other hand, he was good at Norwich for five months, nine years ago. And at Sunderland he did what Grant McCann did.
I’m not against Neil at all because he’s a pragmatic organiser, but I don’t see his record as especially impressive.
