Exactly, inundated with applications doesn't mean they're all good applicants. And of course there's going to be a shortlist. At worst they'll pick 5 or 6 random applicants out of a hat and decide one of them is going to get the job. That would constitute making a shortlist. The levels of negativity/panic some people are going to is getting ridiculous now.
I think Swanny talks a lot of ****, he talks like a fan but doesn't seem like the rational type you'd expect of an ex-player who has been and done it. He seems more like the kind of fan who says the most obvious thing at all times.
Think out of all the names mentioned, for me it's gotta be Brown. Better the devil you know and all that.
Our new manager may be the one to lead us to the promised land and is presently manager of Egypts top team. I'm a believer!
That would not surprise me at all. Manager of that top Egyptian team. He's European (Italian?) so no problem with work permit.
Cos he's a know-nowt twa t with a mouth on him that spews sh ite whenever it's asked it's opinion? Just a stab in the dark. Which is what I'd be quite happy for him to receive. I can derelick my own balls!
Looking at your signature, I expected you to say 'Just a stab in the dark, which incidentally is what you'll be getting if you don't start being more helpful!'
lets be realistic here. we're not the most attractive club in the championship due to a number of reasons.. but we do have a decent squad, stadium and fan base. we should be able to attract a good manager at this level. i think some of the names mentioned would not even consider us, mad mick, ole gunner, curbs etc... we have no chance. billy davies, abbott & clark on the other hand are probably the best we can hope for.
the current manager of El Ahly is Manuel José who's Portuguese, they're the most successful Egyptian club
Not referring to you as a poster but generally meaning everyone, didn't want to say "everyone thinks he is top of the list" cos everyone didn't, didn't want to say that I thought he was top of the list cos it was thought by a few people. Really not getting at anyone with the "you", its just general.
According to Sky sports betting odds last night OGS was favourite to take over at Aston Villa. Has any team in the past announced who is their shortlist of managerial candidates - it would be interesting to see who is on that list, but has been said before. whoever we appoint will have their detractors for whatever reason. And just because they may be a lower league manager does not mean they will turn out to be another Parkinson.
Ah Doveston. I see what you did there. Very clever. You took something that I didn't say, and filled in the blanks. Are you a woman? Just curious, that's all. For future reference, why don't you read the words people write, soak them up instead of just making stuff up. Anyway, all I have you say to back my comments up are two words. RADIO. HUMBERSIDE. 120+ minutes of constant drivel backing up my claims of him talking s hit. Now run along. T ITHEAD. 😚 I can derelick my own balls!
Ive met him a thousand times and he's a decent bloke who deliberately talks ****e. It always astonishes me that people miss the point that Swan is trying to be controversial, get fans backs up and then get them talking. The old stat is something along the lines of people who liked Howard Stern used to listen for an hour a week. People who hated him listened for 5 hours a week.....
Swanny has Twitter, will have to check that out, is he still saying Bullard should play every game 'likeisaylikeisay'
