To be fair it looks more like it was cast iron and welded on! <laugh>
Edelman said teams didn’t have badges as the embroidery and leeds were the first to in the late 1960s. Badges on Leeds United going back to 1934. They then put a badge which was an owl on in mid sixties. They then had the most successful spell in their history but the superstitious Revie ditched it as he thought birds were a sign of bad luck.

Worse luck still when you put a ring on their finger....(in jest):emoticon-0103-cool:

If that's the case, we could come up with a radical idea like change the name to Hull Tigers, oh hang on.........
Simple marketing, my dear chap. I recall the 4 Ps, Price, Place, Product, Promotion....I'm guessing the lads and lasses at City failed the test. I recently met the former Commercial Manager who had a few things to say...But my lips are sealed.

They are hardly going to drop their support of Man Utd ,Liverpool and Arsenal because we have a Tigers head on the shirt .
Very true...But lets assume we have a similar start to the 2008/09 season...Unlikely, but you never know. I guess the demand for shirts would go up, but with no incentive to buy one, they won't.

I could be wrong but I think competitive football was more or less scrapped during the war years?

My Granny's younger brother was a first team regular at Ibrox but went to War alongside 10 or 11 others from the team between 39-45..
This is correct.

There were also travel restrictions for a lot of the war era, preventing longer range fixtures and very much doubt that kits were intentionally made without badges, as there was clothing rationing, so shirts from previous seasons would have been recycled.

Does every club have a crest now ?

Still not willing to admit your statement was wrong and indulging in deflection instead?
The argument was that the writing on the shirt is an afront to our history because we have a history of always have a Tigers head on the shirt !
Is that correct ?
Of which there is plenty of evidence that it isn't the case .
We are not in the 80s anymore where you can argue the case til you are blue in the face that we always have due to online images and videos .
Hull City never really had an history of constantly having a Tigers head on said shirt .
Even the writing HCAFC may have been a cost issue .

You said no one did and quoted Leeds in the 1960s as the first ones to have one which was bollocks. No one has said we have always had a tiger’s head on our shirts.

Go have a lie down you've had a bit of a mare .
The evidence is all over the internet .
Join the argument earlier next time to get the full jist .

Says the person who said no one had badges on their shirts years ago as th embroidery was too difficult and quotes Leeds who had a badge on their shirt from 1934.

Dare to be different. I doubt the global media will be beating a path to those teams doors. :emoticon-0138-think

It's our time.
They won’t be beating a path to ours if the just see HCAFC. A badge with a tiger and the club’s name might intrigue a few though.

If they were going retro, I would’ve liked the 1979-92 tiger head with ‘Hull City’ underneath.
