When we did or didn't have stripes historically is kind of irrelevant. The five years we spent in the PL - always in stripes - have given us a world-wide, identifiable and iconic brand that we could only dream about 20 years ago. I know people in Brazil who recognise the kit and know the club and the nickname. To abandon that now would be a mistake IMHO.

we got promoted for the first time ever in pinstripes though, and I think that’s one of our best kits of all time

I just use the ‘grey rock method’ with people like that. One of my colleagues is like it as well. Always making negative comments to get a reaction so she can fall back on ‘I’m just saying it like it is’. I just shrug, give one word answers and walk away. They hate it when you don’t give them attention.

if we were truly authentic to tigers we’d only be beating teams were ahead of in the animal kingdoms food chain. Best hope we are in a league with Brighton, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Bristol City and Swindon Town.
