I stupidly support my team no matter what, not like a few "fair weather" fans on here looking for something to moan about and big up other teams' business. I couldn't give a toss who Sheffield Wednesday sign!
I don't know what that digs for. I just think that's a hell of a lot of money for a t-shirt. I feel sorry for the dads having to buy their boys a few tops. No need for that kind of crap on a Saturday morning Dave.
To be honest I do. It just gives me a bit of an idea of what to expect of other teams when we play them and what we are up against. Had we remained in the premier League than obviously I wouldn't care who Sheffield Wednesday signed. That is a lot of money for a t shirt but if you can afford it than why not, I'll probably have to wait for end of the season when it's on sale because it's a lot of money to me. But I do really like it.
Exactly. Common sense to keep an eye on the promotion rivals business. Compare their squad to ours. I'll probably have to do the same with the shirt too.
Haven't Iceland and Wales just proved if the opposition have players that you envy and wish for in your team, the game is only played on the pitch!
Oooh, look at me, I spent £73 on a replica shirt so I'm a far bigger supporter than you ignorant plebs who won't / can't afford it. Well said, FML. Why stir up scheisse when there are currently no choppy (footballing) waters to negotiate. There's enough political shenanigans to moan at without demeaning fellow fans / forum contributors
Damn my Catholic sensibilities, the Devil knows I've tried to fight them, but I'm saying this anyway. I know you guys have issues, for whatever reason, and far be it from me to intervene, but that's not really what Dave said, was it. It was more to do with people with incessant negativity, which, I have to say, brings me down too. I met Dave recently, and found him to be excellent company, and whilst he may have been a secret millionaire in disguise, I felt it more likely that £73 may have been more than he was looking to pay, but sometimes fans somewhat distant from Carrow Road are prepared to fork out to feel connected to the community. Anyway, apologies to everyone for interrupting, do carry on, I have no issues with anyone here, even Welly and Duncan! (Kidding guys)
Seems like only a year ago we were arguing about whether we were allowed to dislike and therefore not buy a kit.
Appreciate your input, Gandy and thank you It's just in the absence of any meaningful transfer business so far, there's precious little NCFC stuff to discuss and so naturally some take an interest in the wider world outside of NR1 and keep a weather eye on what / who other teams we're likely to be competing at the top of the table with are signing or linked with. fairly natural, I'd sy - or we may as well close the forum until we sign somebody. I apologise to you for my negativity re: hanging on to Whittaker and Turner, I've made no bones that I would prefer to see upgrades on the pair of them. But, if they feature on Aug 6th, they'll get my unequivocal backing as much as anyone else He said this:- I just don't fathom why keeping an eye on close rivals activities makes me or FML a fairweather fan to be publicly derided and made fools of on a forum where we're all ostensibly meant to be off the same hymnsheet?
Yes Cromer - I'm getting just a little peeved that our rivals and other teams in the division are obviously strengthening, whilst our news is that we hold on to Whittaker and Turner!!! I'd really like us to see someone join who will improve the team and I'd like to see them join very soon, so that they can benefit from pre season and not join just before the window slams shut. OK, I appreciate that the Euros are still on and the window is open for another 8 weeks or so!!!!
But the Norwich way is, nobody knows who we are chasing until the deal is done. Unless, of course, the target's current manager is Steve Bruce, intent on starting a bidding war! I'm quite happy with the Norwich way!
I don't mind not hearing about it until the deal is done, but Newcastle and Wednesday have ALREADY signed players who should improve their team!!!!
Generally on here, I have commented on exciting sounding transfer news from around the world, If someone makes a good signing, in my opinion. I've said it. It was a transfer window discussion thread. I've said I've been excited by our link to Pritchard and to that Charlton winger we were linked with. If we were pushing ahead with those 2, I'd be excited. If we had signed a player, I would have been excited by that, but it's hard to be excited about nothing. I said I really liked the new top. I was just saying the price (and of all football tops), are unbelievable. All the money in football, and the fans still see no benefit of it. I think there should be a cap on how much they can charge for a top. So it's affordable for fans who want to buy tops for their kids, and themselves, on top of the very high ticket prices, and over all match day experience. I wouldn't say I was overly negative or a "fair weather" fan. It's a discussion forum. People have different views. With what we have had the past half season, on and off the pitch, I don't think you will find many posters have 100% positive opinions.
There's plenty of time yet, but what hacks me off is considering we were strongly linked to Stephen Fletcher prior to him joining the Owls, isn't it natural to have an opinion when he opts to join a rival? And why does that make me, or anyone else who doesn't live cocooned in a little green and yellow bubble a "fair weather" fan Teams like Newcastle and Sheff Weds have been sorting their stuff nice and early which does indeed show a massive statement of intent. Whereas all we've done so far is pocket the Redmond money (it was well documented weeks ago that he was off) and change one head coach for another. However, after the travesty of a window this time last year, I have no doubt AN has his plans afoot to bring in the calibre of reinforcements we badly need to compete next season - I'll be much happier when he lands one or two! edit - last paragraph virtually echoes exactly what FML just said
