I think it's good news. I'm always seeing Nike branded team shirts available for sale over here.

New Balance, sure you can order them online from the store page but that's the extent of club team coverage.

I get zero chance at buying end of season shirt sales, etc

With Nike as a shirt sponsor I may be able to get a shirt every once in a while.

What was it like when it was Adidas?

What was it like when it was Adidas?

I was in the UK most of the time we had Adidas based kits.

The most recent time, I think ending about a decade ago, I was in the US but football shirts of any kind were still very hard to find.

It's really only been the last 5 years or so that I see the nike, (or sometimes Adidas) shirts for sale in regular athletics shops, and occasionally regular clothing shops.

Nike really has the best distribution of football shirts (in regular stores) in the US, Adidas probably second best. Umbro, New Balance, Reebok... You see clothing by those companies frequently but not seen their football sponsored clothing in any of the normal stores.

Nike even shows up in discount wholesalers from time to time. I saw a Barcelona home kit for $10 in the local Burlington Coat Factory recently. Probably last year's shirt, I don't know.

Liverpool win court battle with kit supplier New Balance
Liverpool have been victorious in their court battle with kit supplier New Balance, paving the way for a new multi-million-pound deal with Nike.

Liverpool were being sued in the High Court by New Balance after allegedly refusing to honour the terms of their current £40m-a-year deal, which expires in May 2020.

I know it's a common phrase, he'll pay for himself in shirt sales, that was actually completely wrong as the club just got a wedge and that was that, but now that we will get a percentage of every shirt sold do you think this may come into play?

I really hope not :(

It's great news about Nike from a purely Liverpool perspective, whatever you think about that company aside, it shows what a club we are (again) now through the size of the deal

That sort of bs around suddenly grabbing random 'star' players because of it is stupid though, we just need to keep doing what we've been doing on the recruitment front, not suddenly start trying to buy up 'Galacticos' just because we've got the biggest sportswear manufacturer in the world on board. I'm sure that won't happen on Klopp's watch anyway
