Sorry, what? Is this a wind up? I'm guessing your comments are at least partially directed at me because that is pretty much what I said (that I wouldn't buy the shirt). If it puts your mind at rest Dave, I bought both the home and away shirt last year (although admittedly it was kind of by accident). Can I please support the club again now? If that doesn't appease you, how about the £500 I spend every year on a season ticket, the £62 I spent to go to Wembley, plus all the money on away tickets and trains to follow my club across the country when I have the time? Bloody hell...
Why are most threads turning into inner arguments? People are being a little over sensitive! We have a massive season coming up, it's going to be ridiculously difficult. last thing we need to to have animosity between our own! Our season looked over before it began, and we still got promoted. This is our season in the sun, it's party time! The money we have earned will sustain our club if managed right. I don't understand the anger. For me, anything this season is a bonus. I think Alex will stand us in good stead for the battle. We have nothing to lose.
HFM, it wasn't only you that it was directed at, I just don't get the point of criticizing the club shirt, it's in the club's colours and bears the sponsor's name and it will never be mistaken for another club's kit, it's performances on the field that matter, what you and others did was akin to a small child throwing a tantrum!
So are fans supposed to just smile, nod and open their wallets whenever the club says so? Is it so bad to think a particular shirt is sub-par and that you'll give this one a miss?
Of course not, but just don't buy it, don't go shouting to everyone that you're so upset you're going to stamp your foot! That's all really!
A little story from another man who didn't like it! http://www.norwich.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=404702
Interesting Dave, as now I've got mine I think the colours are great and quite a bit different to last year's yellow and green. I got mine in Chapelfield on Friday and they were certainly selling quite a few in the time I was in there. I only got the PL badges and didn't bother with my name on the back this year.
I went to the shop in Castle mall on Saturday thinking I'd probably buy it. As I've said before I wasn't that keen but was more disappointed that a potentially great kit had been a little ruined but still looked ok. I was however the reverse of those others, I think I must be a bit OCD with symmetry or something but I really didn't like it in the flesh. Can't please everybody I guess. Bah!
The Town strip is much worse, its made of recycled tampons, used underpants from diarrhoea UK and envelopes of anthrax sent to financial establishments by terrorists.
You're absolutely right General. As others have said, it looks a bit 'lopsided', but I'm sure if we start getting results whist the team's wearing it, all this will be forgotten. Look at the comments about last season's away kit and then look at the points we won whilst wearing it!!!!
I don't care for it, I like symmetry, just as I liked Norwich Union. I'm sure Dave looks resplendent in his , I'm just not sure how a discussion about the aesthetics of the new shirt turned into anything other than just that. It's selling well, so hurrah! I won't be buying it, but I may still decide to continue to support my team.
I must say I'm very disappointed that one or two of you, those I have always enjoyed hearing your views on ALL things NCFC, appear to have totally mis-understood what I'm trying to say! I thought better of you!
What's to be misunderstood about calling someone 'silly' and 'petty' and saying they don't support their club properly?
I have no problem with people disagreeing with me, so long as they understand what I'm trying to say! Which illustrates my point of lack of understanding what's been said! Instead of picking out single words, look at the whole picture that I am describing!
I know precisely what I mean, I don't give a toss if others can't be bothered to work it out and yes my new shirt has arrived, all £66 poundsworth of it and I love it!
