Personally, I quite like the new Home shirt. I just hope its not made of that shiny material we've had the last few seasons (long shot I know, but not all clubs have the same material).

Think I'll most likely go for the short-sleeved version, as it'll cost less (not by much I admit) and haven't been a fan of long-sleeved football shirts since I got one for the 2007/08 season.

I think the bluebird on the badge is a token gesture to the fans so as not to remove all heritage. Certainly the colour and massive dragon suggest that's what they want to be known for now.

I thought the red dragon was there to make it clear that they represent Wales, i haven't heard of any change to the nickname other than on sites like this anyway. To quote Tickler "TWT"

Far bigger teams get templates, it's just how it works now.

We simply are not significant enough in terms of advertising and revenue for addidas to invest any more time/effort into making us a custom kit.

We'll get a custom kit if we switch to Burrda or Macron next season and you can guarantee it will be awful (see leeds, west ham, wolves...etc) you'll soon be wishing for an addidas template again.

Maybe clubs should make a more of a fuss then. I'm not asking for a shirt designed from scratch, it just feels cheap that we'll be wearing the same shirts as sunday league teams.

I agree, but it's been the same for the last 6 seasons so we shouldn't be surprised now it's happened again.

That said it actually works the other way round for clubs which get custom kits made, take Barcelona for example, their custom nike kit became available without the badges for sunday league teams after it was originally designed for them.

It's not a case of stripes or plain .. Or cost for me .

Just pissed off that all adidas have done is give us one of there old £10.50p tops .

We should have had something a bit more "made for Hull City"

I think there taking the piss .

I wonder If the club realise the same top is an old design and as cheap as chips .

Who know's what the intentions are behind it, but given the change from blue to red was to make them more marketable in the east, moving from the bluebirds to the dragons would be an inevitable/logical step.

I'm sure Cardiff fans and the fans of other clubs will still refer to them as the bluebirds though, I know I will.

I have no idea what this means!

This has been done to death.

We are not the only club that gets this, in fact it's only a small minority that actually get custom kits and most of those are by smaller brands and are awful.

Of course the club knows about this, it's not just addidas that put the huge mark up on the actual production costs, the club make a killing too.

Personally I do think we should always wear stripes, and have always preferred them.
Why ? well, because it ties in with our nickname first and it makes us distinctive - to me the solid coloured strips just lump us in with the likes of Wolves. And yes I know that their colours are technically different but tbh most people just see 'yellow' or 'gold' and black
I agree with this, the stripes give us identity, without we could be just another Wolves to the casual fan. Thumbs down from me, but I'm happy as just got last seasons shirt for a tenner in the sale, with the Tiger stripes.

There's no problem with stripes. I don't think one person on this thread has said we shouldn't have stripes. The argument is whether we should always wear stripes or alternate between stripes and plain as we currenly do and have done for about 70 years. Surely the bit that needs justifying is why we should suddenly change to always having stripes?

The floor is yours...
Stripes baby, all the way!

Good business opportunity for the Walton Street traders here. Buy the generic training top at £10.50, sew on a club crest and cash converters logo then sell at say £21. 100% mark up, minus logo and labour, yet still around half the price of the genuine article.

Im not going to read through ten pages of kit talk,so apologies if this has already been said, but i don't really give a **** how the new kit looks. It does look like a training top but hey ! Spare a thought for Cardiff eh !
