Alan Smith hasn't been a striker since Dean Windass was in short trousers. He's not much of an attacking midfielder either.
A loan from a prem club won't be happening until all the buying in has been done. It remains to be seen who is unwanted further down the line. At this moment they are still trying to sell the players that do not feature in the managers plans. Nile Rangers proposed move to Blackpool has broken down over personal terms, if he is still at Newcastle in a month they may listen to loan offers. There could be plenty of other players in a similair situation. We may get a player out of nowhere at the end of the window. I'm not suggesting that Nile Ranger is the answer, but a player in that unwanted category may come up.
PAH! You do surprise me!! I know Adam admires Oyston for "making" £20m out of their Premiership experience, but I ask you, with that mindset, why even bother enquiring about a Prem reserve striker? We won't be offering bucket-loads due to the debt situation (as was), but I bet we are offering more than Blackpool in the Championship!
Blackpool target top striker!! Likes to splash the cash, that Oyston!! Actually it's slightly worrying that Adam admires him!!
With us going for experience maybe we should go for an OLD HIGH PROFILE STRIKER: please log in to view this image
IMO our striker worries are over. We have had the small pacey ones all along and we just wanted a target man, now we have that we should be grateful and recognise the need for a 3rd centre back or some other position where we are understaffed.
