I quite enjoyed watching them, but ill admit i didnt watch them loads - well organised but liked to get players forward on the games i watched

Im probably biased with him as 1 of the scouts i work with is good mates with him - I've messaged him now to ask if hes heard anything

Any coaches your neck of the woods youd reccomend?
Yeah, I edited my post as I was being too harsh. I didn’t mind what I saw. Well organised, hard to break down, kept possession well but it was slightly cautious. I really rate Corberan and I’d argue he takes a similar approach but more direct. I’m also influenced by some Dutch mates who are big Ajax fans and always slated AZ for being boring and playing not to lose. For what it’s worth I think he’s be a good choice but the fans would have to accept we’re a patient, cautious side.

The Swiss league is a hard one to judge. It could be good for players but coaches is a challenge. Most use it as a route to Italy or Germany or when they are on the decline. Arguably the Lugano coach, Mattia Croci- Torti is the standout this season however they have also been great at recruitment as well. He’s being linked with some lower Serie A jobs.

Reactions: Stranded in Lugano
Funnily enough, so was mine <laugh>. I grew up in Weardale, but went to school in Derwentside. Did scouts in Weardale, mind.
I Scouts and Ventures was in Weardale for me as well.

I remember doing some badge or other. Had to hike in the winter to an old hunting hut. Might have been chappel fell, cant remember. Got up there and had to dig 3 feet of snow to pitch a tent. Went in the hut and sat in front of the fire and melted the rubber soles of my DMs. Hike back down next day with leaking boots was rough. Great times and memories.

Right lads, I'm bored so I've done some digging....

Pascal Jansens agent is a company called Muy Manero.

The lad who runs the agency with his son (I think) helped with Hendersons move to Ajax.

He knows Zenden and a few others with links to us and newcastle.

His son follows KLD which is a bit random/coincidence.

So basically Jansen is our new manager and he is helping to bring Hendo back. <laugh>

It was a great place to do that kind of stuff!! In landscape terms and the people running it seemed reallt good. Did some excellent night hikes and orienteering things round Weardale. Packed in Ventures because it was the same night as my refereeing course. Wish I hadn't now.
