I would understand if perhaps it would have been prudent to meet with the prospective candidate before hand to gauge if he/she would come given the chance, before sacking the head coach....that would make sense and show some forethought.
I don't think it was in KLD and KS plans to sack TM so unexpectedly, hence why they had no one lined up to replace him. Something has gone on behind the scenes that resulted in TM leaving. Just my opinion of course...
Talk sport this morning can't recall who has it was on in the background...it'll be available to listen too again, around 11.30-1215 today. Souness was on earlier and he deserved up too.
'biggest swarm of angry fans' you can remember? Weren't you around at Roker when the windows went and the cars were turned over ?
What I’m finding strange is that KS has always spoke about the club doing the due diligence on the players as people/characters etc. Surely we do that on the managers as well - if we had Beale should be no where near the club based on what we’ve heard from QPR fans alone!!
Imo we shouldnt be speaking to anyone about the managers job while we have someone else in that position. For me thats unprofessional and would be disrespectful to Mowbray If things were as bad behind the scenes between mowbray n speakman, as some have hinted at, then it shouldnt matter if they have someone lined up. The decision should be whether Mowbray was still the right man or not. They would have had a list of suitable candidates and will then start doing more due diligence once Mowbray was sack. If they believe Beale is the right man to take us forward then so be it, they know more than us
The same fans who were gutted that he left them? Thats not how recruitment of players n managers work
Would that not constitute an illegal approach if that individual was employed by another club? Of course that's not to say that we may have spoken to that individuals agent. It's a very fine line Anyway water under the bridge, we can't change what has, or has not happened. Though we could perhaps learn from it.
So no-one you know then ... ... but you're sure he definitely worked with Beale. That's cleared that up then.
The QPR fans who were so desperate to get Gareth Ainsworth that they started a campaign ... ... obviously great judges of a football manager
Well said He wasn’t in my thinking but doesn’t mean he wasn’t on the list the Narrative being created is that the clubs process has failed and we are knee jerk going for Beale as it fits a lot of people’s narrative His coaching background means he could absolutely be on the list no one knows what the clubs process is What is certain is we need some fresh ideas to move the team on.
It might go on but doesnt mean we should do it So how do you not know if Beale is the right bloke? We dont know until a manager comes in and we see how he does before we can decide if hes the right man or not Look id be disappointed if its Beale but if he is the one the club believes is the best fit for us then so be it. Theyve clearly done their due diligence and taken their time to make sure its the right appointment I would rather that than a quick decision
I certainly did not. When his position became untenable I may have demanded a change. Never knew him at the start, but have always said, he was the one who started to turn the SAFC juggernaut. I’ve never said anything negative about him after he left. Next……….. Bart
Was that when the mags turned up in numbers over 40 years ago? Those days are over I hope. I’m talking about thousands of daft lads getting wound up on social media. I’ve never seen more people slating the club at the same time. KLD and the data lads will look at their feedback and take them as seriously as an actual trashing.
