Also, you can argue Will Still isn't foreign. I think the expectation was someone with a grasp of French due to the French lads in the squad, but again that doesn't directly imply foreign, though admittedly increases the likelihood somewhat.

but even that dual language thing was just assumed by everybody. At no point have the club said they wanted somebody dual language.

I 100% believe Still was our first choice, so not saying anybody is wrong. Just that people acting like we were promised a foreign exciting young coach are missing the point. We weren’t. And we’ve still ended up with a young highly regarded coach.

Having had a sleep and a bit of a think I'm pretty much in the underwhelmed camp but the club obviously see things in him / his style / his methods to pick him for the head coaches job.

Therefore he has my full support and we will see where the journey goes from now. As I have said consistently any new coach is going to struggle to implement changes with such a busy schedule of games so we have to give him time

your second point is very valid and is actually cause for hope, I think. Beale won’t be able to make significant change quickly, and so will have to fall on Dodds. It means any change is small and gradual, which has a much greater chance of meaning that this style we enjoy is evolved rather than uprooted

Sure that's why I said expectation and not published club remit.

My major concerns with Beale..hes not a head coach / manager. (Opinions and judgements from Rangers and QPR fans say that).

He has a massive ego, top talker with no end result

Hes a great coach by all accounts, i can see him as part of the set but not the focal point of our coaching and managememt team.

If he doesnt start fast and get the results on the board then comes out with post match waffle he will be chased out of the club by the fans within 6 months.

Thats my opinion.

Nacho, I'm right with ya on that. But I'd love a bit more from KLD & KS on it. Surely it would smooth the transition a bit. They must know that the supporters are 'nervous' about the appointment to say the least.
I'm being too normal aren't I.
They'll make a statement when the signing is completed

well, erm, yeh, if he doesn’t get results he’ll be chased out. Any manager would?

QPR fans really liked him and his style of play until he left

I think your wrong re Steve Neil input I will find out today, and we are not playing hartlepool we are playing the biggest enemy of all.
Mark my words they will trash everything they can, their hatred for us is as bad is ours for them.
Finally, your point of the fans not going cos they have to be move imho is incorrect also.
Every SAFC fan will want to be here for this game.
Can’t disagree, the toilets will need a total refurb after this match. Can imagine a lot of stuff will be damaged. If we don’t fill the rest of the space they will have the odd lunatic pop up among the home fans too. This match is going to be the highlight of their season. (And ours obviously). I just hope there’s not too much trouble but fear the worst, it seems football violence is on the rise in general so can’t imagine we will be immune from this trend in such a fierce derby atmosphere.

You could be right but let’s see first

I'm not incorrect, Steve Neil doesn't have the power to disregard the FA and the police, end of story.

We're drawn against another football team who've been here before with less trouble than some others.

Unless we switch the tie we're obliged to host them.

I don't need a lesson on Newcastle's hatred, I was at the Rowell hat-trick game, play-off second leg and five out of the six in a row, etc.

My first ever visit, in the away section, was the 5-1 ... I'd previously only be able to get tickets in with the Mags.

The police have agreed to the allocation so it's down to them to police it.

A bigger allocation means it's less likely there'll be Mags in the Sunderland sections.

Are we going back to POMO, winning between the boxes and all that ****e speak in press conferences?

If so will someone on here be able to translate them into English for us older posters?

I never watched the LJ pressers cos they were boring, did watch Mowbray's but may not watch the new man's.

There's rarely anything said that isn't already known tbh.
