I believe so yes. Just don't have the specifics to post on here with definitive confidence. So I won't. But it would excuse the absolute mess of this process and the fact we have went near 4 months without a full time head coach
Which demonstrates perfectly why demands for statements should always be ignored out of hand. The only option for anyone posting 'That's 114 days, I can't be any more furious' ... ... is to come back on, the next day, and post 'That's 115 days, I can't be any more furious''. FFS let's appoint a manager then see how furious we are, other clubs than us are without one. Would anyone seriously prefer to be in Plymouth's shoes
He didn’t have to do anything, I see why he did to try and buy some time, but using the word imminently in the statement has done him no favours whatsoever. if anything it’s made things even more tedious
In any other business, and pretty much 99% of the time in football, if you’re failing from the top down and decide to replace the person at the top by poaching someone else they bring their own people in around them. It’s just f*cking common sense to be honest but some will tell you that we’re the 1% and our way is right.
Yes, and they found their man, and, by all accounts, it was all but signed. Still was the man, still was ready to come here, he didn’t. It’s not been 4 months of the club going on searching, and us not being told. The club don’t say anything, which I prefer personally, until it’s done. The way some are saying is that us fans have been suffer this since Beale left, those who look at it realistically, we haven’t, it’s been since the end of the season. It’s been far too long still, but it hasn’t, as I say, been 4 months
The closer we get to pre season the more we need whoever comes in to really hit the ground running. Who is discussing and organising the plans for pre season? Surely we need a head coach to be front and centre of that planning?
It's only tedious if you choose to wind yersel up mate ... ... we will appoint a manager at which point I'll consider how I feel about it. Being continually furious isn't good for people.
Exactly this. In terms of SAFC, we made a very solid start with a few bumps last season, he made the choice to bin Mowbray. He then made the decision to hire Beale based on god only knows what for 2.5 years. He was gone inside 2 months. We finished 16th when we finished 6th last season, 6 weeks tomorrow since the season finished and nothing has happened on the football side, this is his responsibility. If he made an appointment in the days after the Sheff Wed game breathing space would’ve been given over the summer, but here we are 10 days after from our fixtures being released and players returning with no manager in place.
