Was disappointed when the rumour surfaced a few days ago. By all accounts he is a brilliant coach, but his time at Rangers didn't go to plan. His man management and tactical nous were questioned. Really not sure what to make of this appointment, if it comes to pass. I still believe in the long term plan that we are on, it just seems like a missed opportunity here. Time will tell, how it will pan out.

Steve McClaren was also an excellent Coach as was Brian Kidd. Both shyte managers
Well rants over what will be will be
its Friday so I've opened a beer.
And am now consoling myself with the fact its not Scott Parker <laugh>

Id have rather had him tbf

I’m happy with the direction (onfield) that KLd and speakman have went. If it’s Michael Beale then I’m losing a bit of faith tbh. It feels like an embarrassing appointment that for sure ends in tears (hope I’m proved wrong). Yes Mowbray and Neil were underwhelming but both made an absolute tonne of sense to come in at the time they did. This one though makes no sense. They didn’t need to sack Mowbray, ended up doing it, took nearly two weeks just to end up with Michael Beale as if he was the man they wanted for ages? Why? What’s he done?

sorry to be negative but I’m massively disappointed with this if it happens and have lost quite a bit of faith in what the club is trying to do. Hope I’m proved wrong but I’d rather have Dodds tbh and I don’t want him either

ahh welll, the club has done it again, baffled everyone with their choice.

cannot say i know anything at all about all 'the names' and rely completely on lads to dig up things around the net or gathering details from associates in the game so i am one of the last to say i am not happy...same as TM i am quite happy to give the lad some time and see how it goes, currently hoping for another nice surprise.

the leadership have earned a little 'wiggle room' i guess, just hope they had plenty of thought into this appointment and it is not as it appears at first as a 'others declined, this one was left, eager and cheap'.

They only spent £15m in total and had a net spend of £2m against their player sales.. lost Sakala, Kamara, Kent, Morelos amongst others.

He managed 90 odd points with a 70% win ratio which would’ve been enough to win the SPL a fair few times over the last decade. **** knows what Rangers fans think of their previous managers if he’s a disaster mind.

Obviously trophies are what matters but you wouldn’t say Arteta is sh*te because he couldn’t topple Man City and he’s had about 5 years worth of trying now.

Not a flattering appointment but don’t see him being worse than Mowbray and young enough to implement new ideas hopefully.
I get the win % stuff but my concern was the football he played, no defined style of play other than boring n predictable

Rangers always looked slow n sluggish under him, as soon as clement was appt he said the players were unfit

The board has earned our trust but this would be by far their biggest risk so far if hes appointed

Beale out!
Honestly I don’t know how this has come about but I’m willing to see how it goes.
I have no info about any of the names apart from wikipedia so if it’s Beale he’s got ten games to impress me before I stamp my foot and and say boo.

Fair play mate. I haven’t really watched them this season I did see the 1-0 win against Betis and they looked alright to be fair created quite a lot of chances against a good team but I haven’t seen enough of them to know what kind of football he tried to implement.

I remember Rangers fans screaming for Gerrards head the season before last and I’m sure even then he only finished a few points behind Celtic then when he did leave they were furious so I take it with a pinch of salt what happens there but the identity crisis football doesn’t sound good.

At least coming from the SPL he’ll hopefully have experience of opposition teams parking the bus!

Right - positives are that Dodds will still be behind him. Can’t see Beale being able to massively change the approaches in place so doubt things like players not being fit enough can be a worry.

relationship with players also helped by Dodds staying.

he’s also famously bad at transfers but that isn’t a problem here.

by all accounts he’s a good coach. So there’s that.

I'm really trying here

He also has experience working at a big club where the pressure is always on

That's one of his biggest issues. Apparently couldn't break down low blocks

He’s only had one transfer window man and they sold half of their best Xl so there’s that to make up for anarl :emoticon-0102-bigsm

let’s be honest, sacking Mowbray only to appoint Beale is an absolute nonsense decision and the club hierarchy will deservedly get pelters for it. I’m struggling to see how on earth this bloke is the right fit and to say I’m pissed off is an understatement.

something has happened like it doesn't take 2 weeks do appoint him , massive massive gamble, that the didn't need to do, all this cheap option doesn't sit right aswell like that hellberg was free and would
of been on less money aswell, he's talked his way into this job,i haven't seen a rangers fan say one good thing about him, would of been better giving it to dodds, beale is talked about being one of the best coaches in the world, but his man management is ment to be awful and if he does actually do well, he'll be looking for the first opportunity to bounce to
the next job, i like the structure and owners but this could destroy all that if it goes bad like, hopefully it's not all done and it falls through, haha
