I don't. Not with the squad and money at his disposal. Getting those clubs promoted is a far harder job.
I guess I just meant he's not done enough at a high level. You've made a good point, but Still think we can do better than Challinor though. Think we can do better than Lampard as well for what it's worth.
I also wonder, but i'd rather him than a failure like Lampard who brings nothing to any club he's been at
please log in to view this image Money, weren't they under an embargo and he had to use a load of young players? When Mount and Abraham were coming through? I'd say it was a good achievement to get that squad at the time. 4th.
I rated Lampard before Everton. To an extant I accept that as Everton are a bit of a basket case. That run at Chelsea was ****ing stinking. Dodds style stuff. Not sure what to think.
Xabi Alonso relegated from La Liga 2 in his first coaching role, his second is the job he's currently in. Challinor is not my ideal appointment, nowhere close to it in fact, but you can't close the pool on potential appointments because of things like level they've coached at. And if you want to bring irrelevant things like win percentage into it, Lampards is shocking.
Ok. I still don't think its as good as getting a club from Step 3 nearly into the league. And having done similar at other clubs.
So thats the reasons you want Maric, I also want Maric for similar reasons. Yet you are ok with the tacticless Lampard?
The obvious counter to Challinor is simply the level he has managed at, with the greatest respect to Hartlepool and Stockport, who are smashing clubs in their own right, they're just completely different animals to Sunderland and I'm not convinced it's purely a scaling issue, the clubs are just fundamentally different at a certain level and this impacts on things like personal character, ability to manage large amounts of pressure etc
I'm not a happy clapper nor a Speakman apologist. Don't go putting people into your own little minded boxes. I must admit I' m getting a bit fed up with the time it's taking, but I don't know what is happening behind the scenes and neither do you! What will be will be, if you don't like the appointment THEN complain, or get behind the appointee and support the club!
He's had a rough second stint with Chelsea and the end of his everton stint wasn't too good but with what he has achieved before I think he could do a good job in the championship
Whats his style of play? What he's done previously in terms of league positions and win percentages as I have already said are irrelevant. He just has no style of play.
