Maybe we should keep track through the season of these stupid handball decisions .
And someone with the computer skills could set up a table.
Penaties conceded. Penalties awarded. Points gained. Points lost. Net points.

    1. The penalty data per season gives fairly stable metrics over the past 5 seasons.

    2. The effect of VAR on the (handball) / (total penalties) ratio is already clear
(the metric as at least doubled in value over such a short time) .

I hope that foghorn who says we can't complain because their takeover bid was rejected (when it wasn't...) hasn't parped up yet...

I’m more concerned about us to be honest.
if this does get altered, is it just another rule where we’re one of the teams who are hard done by?

or, as we’re only 3 games into the season, those affected teams can see their fixture replayed? I’m sure palace will be feeling the same as us.

the rule is an utter shambles, but we’ve already lost points as a result. Other clubs potentially won’t face these issues now.

it’s not too late to level the playing field again. Obviously a totally different situation if we were half way through the season, but we’re not.

I'm more concerned about the game itself, to be honest. I don't want to watch The Handball Game.
I'm struggling to give a **** about the whole thing with no supporters at the ground as it is.
That was pretty close to being the final straw, for me.

    I completely agree.

Var can **** off, too. (But keep goal line technology)

The mistakes referees made before the introduction of Var seems like nothing nowadays. I actually miss some of the controversy. How did we get Var so wrong?!

this idea of holding back your goal celebrations for about a minute because you’ll get wummed if the goal is disallowed is killing the game.

the handball rule is the icing on the cake. It just can’t continue.

    what has happened to football?

The issue is that after the Soton handball decision, you ask can it get any worse.
So the PL VAR jobsworth Nazis do a "hold my beer" the very next game.

Shall we ask the question again ... ??

VAR is **** in this country because they decided to do it differently to everywhere else and our officials are crap.

VAR in both Rugby codes works well because the rules are clear and they are applied transparently. Neither is true in football

I think that's what they were going for with the new handball ruling. It's just not how handball works, though.
I also don't know why they've been pissing around with the rule for the last couple of seasons.
Nobody was moaning about it, barring City. They then got hit with the new one and moaned again.

Most of the posters on here could write a better handball rule than either of the last two.
