Best horror I've seen recently was Sinister, good story line and actually made me jump a few times, Ethan Hawke plays the lead very well.

Robot and Frank : Easily the worst movie I've watched recently. I'm just glad I didn't pay to see it.

Thought that was just OK myself, started off well in first act but went downhill for me.

Not that recent now, but The Raid was a feckin awesome action movie. I also liked Cloud Atlas, but I gather many didn't!!

What did you like about Cloud Atlas? I was very much looking forward to it but thought it was a terrible mess.

A bit messy granted. I Just liked the grandness of it, the music, the ambition etc. Trying to spot what actors played what parts, how it all comes together and is linked etc. Just one of them marmite movies I guess; I hadn't read the book either so wasn't let down in that respect.

That's what spoiled it for me at the end that the link was quite tenuous.

I think a lot of people were expecting it to be a lot more clever than it was so felt short changed at the end etc. I perhaps realised early on that it was never going to link in that brilliantly and just tried to enjoy the journey rather than just the end. Could have easily been half a dozen short stories that stood alone but I liked all the different eras and story lines interwoven and it was relatively uplifting in places.

    I've certainly seen worse!!

Yeah I've seen a lot worse, I think the fact that I was really looking forward to it that meant that I was more disappointed.

Watched "Now You See Me" last night, came in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Didn't see the major plot twists coming.

Saw this last night, good movie, especially the final act. I saw a dubbed version though which always spoils it a little for me so watch a subs version if you can as the dubbing is typically awful.
