Does the sol need a new facade? I think it does apart from the bricky bit I think it looks cheap and very 90s. If I was a mega rich new owner that’s one of the things I’d look at doing with a view to selling naming rights

Whilst the upkeep and maintenance of the stadium is important (there are many areas where a lick of paint wouldn’t go amiss) I’d much prefer if any owner of the club whether current or new, provided us with a decent team.

Stadium still looks good imo. What I wouldnt mind is some huge black cats with red lighting around the edge affixed to the steelwork. I think for nighttime games it would look extremely impressive.
I do however accept that there would be a fairly big cost to that for no return.

Even if it does 'look a bit 90s', in future generations that will be a thing to cherish. It will be an example of that particular era of stadium building. Parts of Roker Park 'looked a bit 1890s' but now the club and the fanzines are referencing those things in some of graphics they're putting out. Which is a good thing, because we're slowly losing all of the Archibald Leitch football architecture.

I'd rather have better players than fancy bricks.

The only 'fancy new bricks' I'd like to live long enough to see is those that would be necessary to extend the concourses in the East & South stands.

The built the stadium the wrong way around in the first place, rubbish design as well not bad for £15m though, not a league 1 ground either.

Strangely enough I think it was built that way to keep the majority of the crowds
Away from the main entrance
To avoid congestion
Thus allowing more freedom of movement
May be wrong though

We aren’t ever going to extend though are we. Always thought it looked drab. Especially compared to modern stadiums. It just looks cheap and we will only look fondly at it because it’s our football stadium.
