Several of our current squad are in their last season, Eaves and Holy spring to mind. As these players will be free to talk to other clubs in January, should/are we discussing new contracts. We are sometimes a bit slow holding on to our assets, agents from other clubs are already circling and will be moving in at the first opportunity. sort it out scally.
I said soon as we got extra money from Egan we should extend those 2 players contracts. They were our only 2 players who could get a decent fee. Holy can talk to other clubs in Jan as is foreign Eaves cannot.
Ok. I've looked into the transfer rules. You can only approach a player 6 months before his contract expires if he is playing outside of England (This applies even to English players playing abroad) this means Holy can't be approached. Players who are playing in England can be approached 1 month before their contract expires, which would include Holy and Eaves. Obviously if you get agreement from a players current club, you can speak too and sign a pre-contract agreement at anytime.
