The Rovers boss has also revealed he has brought in a new coach at the club who will work with Chris Hargreaves and the Under 21s as well identifying players from abroad who could fit into Rovers' side.

The man Clarke has trusted with the job is a person he knows very well. Experienced non-league player Brian Dutton has been brought in to look into overseas recruitment.
Darrell Clarke is a man who knows the value of having people you can trust around you and as such he has gone for a man who captained Salisbury City while Clarke was in charge of The Whites.

Having been part of the Salisbury City side who twice won promotion under Clarke, Dutton had been playing for Eastbourne Borough before returning to new club Salisbury FC in February this year under new manager Steve Claridge.

Away from playing Dutton has been studying hard for his coaching badges and now holds a Uefa A licence as well as owning Salisbury soccer schools, providing coaching to children throughout Wiltshire and Hampshire.

Dutton has been playing semi-professionally this season while juggling his coaching work along side managing Andover Under 19s.

Clarke revealed that one of Dutton's first assignments in his new role at Rovers will see him travel to northern Spain to visit Real Oviedo. The Segunda Division outfit are managed by Real Madrid legend Fernando Hierro and Dutton will be charged with studying the clubs methods and players.

Its clear Clarke will value Dutton's opinion when it come to players, speaking last week the Rovers boss said: "It's about getting somebody who knows what I want from abroad, I've known Brian a good few years and he knows what I want."

Rovers fans will now be hoping that Dutton's new role will lead to The Gas capturing some of the best undiscovered talent from abroad before nurturing them at Rovers.
Although it is perhaps the expanding recruitment strategy which may excite Gasheads the most, Dutton's biggest impact could be with youth team as he uses his coaching expertise to coax the very best out of Rovers' already impressive academy players.

When the new owners took over they said that investing in the youth would be one of their priorities and it's good that we are expanding the range of our scouting, maybe Steve Yates might also see some young talent in Crete now he has returned home, When the last board were in place many questions were asked on the old now defunct forum about whether we actually had scouts or whether we used some pool for our information at least that question now doesn't now need to be asked

All the little things are falling into place. I just hope the players which get found (if any) fit in to what we have going already and not disrupt things for their own agenda. I am sure DC will handle that though.
