It could yet be Harry couldn't it? I never know what to believe but Ramos from Spain found out how much more difficult it is in the PL and one Portuguese manager has already failed at Chelsea. Whoever it will be I am not that concerned.

You are probably thinking of Scolari who was the Portuguese national coach, but he is in fact Brazilian not Portuguese. That's probably where the confusion lies as Jose has been our only Portuguese manager up until now.

I think you will find most chelsea fans are very happy with this appointment (if it happens). He has won more major honours in one season than your manager in his whole career!!

Porto were way behind the pace the season before last and it was a massive gamble letting Villas Boas take over yet he delivered the treble in his first season without losing a single league game all season. That's pretty impressive even by Porto's standards.
Hey, I'm not knocking the bloke, but winning trophies with Porto is like winning trophies with Rangers or Celtic.

It's very difficult to predict how it's going to turn out for him in the Premier league as plenty of managers have arrived with big reputations only to leave with their tales between their legs. This is a big gamble appointing a manager with such little top flight experience and his age could count against him considering he's the same age as Lampard. Saying that it has been reported that his age was an advantage in Porto as the players felt close to him. Whatever happens it's going to be interesting to see what happens
I could be taking ****e but didn't he come from the North East?? I believe that's how he ended up being Bobby Robson's assistant because he lived near him in Newcastle. He certainly speaks the language, has previously worked in England for us under Jose and is young n hungry. This looks like a smart move.
I agree winning the league with Porto isn't in itself a massive achievement but the manner in which he won it was and with a Eufa cup on top, that's pretty special.
According to Wikipedia, he lived in the same apartment block as Bobby Robson when he was managing Porto.
He does speak English fluently though and did follow Mourinho to Chelsea and Inter.
It'll be interesting to see if he brings a number of players with him.

Sturridge would be ideal for you guys, I'm suprised it hasn't been mooted yet. I wouldn't want to let him go but he seems quite far down the pecking order at the moment or at least till some of our forwards are moved on.
I guess a loan would be out of the question to as I'm sure we wont let him go to a rival.
