Ok Max, here's the deal.

If you are are BT Broadband customer all you have to do is give them a call or register online you can then watch the BT Sport Channels completely free online or via any other mobile device. Alternatively, you can register for BT Vision in which case they will send you a free box but you do have to pay either £5 per month for their basic TV package or £7 per month (£84 per year) and you then receive additional Sky TV channels i.e. Gold, Comedy Central, Fox etc etc PLUS ESPN.
N.B. You must register before August 1st to receive free HD for 12 months, after a year it's then £3 per month for HD or you can cancel and just watch in SD still F.O.C. I hope that makes sense ?

P.S. Andy, please accept my sincere apologies for my derogatory posts towards you, I really had no idea of your dyslexia <ok>
Thanks kio
Ah so if you pay £5 per month you get the box for free, get it

I know the general consensus is sky is a rip off but if you haggle with them you can get some really good deal, at the moment I'm on the top package (everything in including sports and movies) and only paying £26 a month on a year rolling contract, as soon as my year is up, I get on the blower threaten to cancel and get another year at the same price.

Happy days.

I don't think anyone is expecting it to be free forever for BT customers, however there are providers who have made the lock in your customers with almost free deals work, just look at Sky with their broadband so it's possible to maximise streams in other sectors by locking otherwise mobile customers down.

Also the choice of match thing is for us, 99% of the time good. Lets face it the matches that we want to see are the ones Sky can't be arsed to show. They should have sorted this years ago by telling Sky if they choose not to show a match (via Sat or online) then they have to offer it to other providers at a cut price rate, this would have made sure that as many matches were viewable as possible and stopped Sky buying them all up and then sitting on them preventing the vast majority from being able to choose to follow their team. It would also have almost eliminated the need for overseas subs and dodgy streaming the ONLY people to blame for this are the scum preventing matches from being shown

(sorry turned into a mini rant)

if people think bt sport will be free (if you can call it that) for 'years to come' they are a little bit deluded.

and they've already been blown out of the water by sky on their choice of matches.

Ive got Sports HD, movies, kids, documentaries and entertainment package. It costs me £24 per month. You are right Guru, just threaten to leave and they keep it the same, or sometimes do it for even less. They just ask that you tie in for a year.

No one is saying that it will be free forever and a day Supers, but mark my words I reckon BT are in this for the long haul and don't forget this is only season no.1 for them.

BT as a company are huge and have the resources to challenge Sky going forward. The offer as I see it, is to get as many subscribers on board as possible before deciding to take on Sky when the next contract is due. It would have been one hell of a risk to go head to head with Sky this time trying to persuade their subscribers to defect to a brand new platform. At the end of the day, Sky do what they do extremely well even if their subscription charges are IMO a rip off (£10 extra for HD <grr>)

I spose Sky has Match choice but the lack of games is ridiculous, how Sky get away with it year on year is beyond me. In other countries they get ALL the games and for half the price. Typical example of rip off Britain!, I might just stream it for free this year or get a foreign subscription.
