Sparky, no worries, if we all thought the same it’d be boring. There will be an impact from Brexit. The richer clubs are better placed to deal with the extra costs involved.
These prices paid are inflated, the Wolves and Fulham owners have deeper pockets and feel they can afford the extra cost. Agents must be rubbing their collective hands at the thought of more red tape in the transfer market, what costs will that add to any transfer.
The players won’t be affected too much as they have their agents and accountants sorting out the red tape. So the status quo may well be maintained, at a higher cost to the club paying out transfer fees and agent fees.

Taff - there's far too much back-patting going on between members on other forums. It can be so fking boring when everyone agrees on here.

Mind you it's a good job your a bloody moderator or I'd delete your posts for disagreeing with me.....<laugh> <ok>

Don’t think it was right for Warnock to say he prefers the Championship and this season is a bonus for the fans.

That is just a cop out and weak.

He should have said he’s going to fight tooth and nail to stay in this division and give the fans a season to remember. I don’t want to turn up to any City game thinking there is no chance of getting anything from it. Warnock's comments give a negative and pessimistic impression.

100,000,000 reasons that I can think of.
Stay up or not, last season's promotion should secure our financial future.

Should do given the peanuts that we've spent on staying up.

Relying on "more of the same" and the "Warnock effect" from last season will either be seen as a mistake or a masterstroke come the end of the season - however, this is not the Championship.

I'd let Warnock have the whole season. Don't see anyone else turning our fortunes around without fresh signings. Think Tan had his fingers burnt last time and is being overly cautious.
A new manager probably needed at the end of the season, but as I've said a few times, I'd like Warnock at the club in some capacity.

The guy who wrote that article in the OP was spot on. We've taken the Prem money deservedly earned through our efforts last season and run.

We failed to invest and adequately strengthen the squad for the task ahead. Either Tan/Dalman/Choo are deluded enough to think Warnock can walk on water at this level or it's been a deliberate cop out by retaining the rewards of promotion for financial reasons.

I still say if we get to the final half dozen games and we're still in with a decent chance of staying up, I wouldn't want anyone else in charge other than Warnock. The big problem for me would be we should have given ourselves a sporting chance not to get ourselves into that position in the first place.

Hey Sparkey. Can't see it to be honest. We may well struggle to get near 25 points this time around. I agree with you that the powers to be thought Warnock could get the job done with basically the same squad, and I also think Warnock probably helped them believe that.

no idea who did the draw but I see you have Spurs and Liverpool this month as well - ffs someone is a sadist. I suppose in one way you have 5 of the top 6 out of the way in the first 10 games, I might even tip you against Fulham

I think most agree that Warnock was exactly what we needed when he came in and he's earned the right to have a proper crack at keeping us up. If he doesn't then he's definitely the guy to get us back up again and improve his promotions record along the way. The fans have been great with their support in the face of adversity so far this season. I'm wondering how long do you guys think that will last the longer this win less run goes on? Would anybody want a survival specialist to come in?

I don't understand how people are still optimistic about staying up. We don't have a strong enough squad whatsoever. It's not just a striker that's needed (although that is top of the list) we also need a decent right back, centre mid etc. The list is long and we aren't good enough for this division as it stands!

Sadly I’m with you. The squad needed to be radically improved pre season. The step up to the PL has shown how limited some of City’s players are.

Discussing this walking towards Canton after the game and we agreed the lack of ambition and foresight pre season by the board has done for us.

If anyone thinks we can rescue this with a January transfer bonanza well just think about what sorts of players would want to play for a relegation haunted team?

the optimism comes from similar teams around us dude.........like I said before and will say it again>>>>>>>theres a six team league and the rest are just top end championship quality ......so no surprise 2 me given the fact we didn't take the gamble 2 stay up by spending above our means <ok>

We haven't beaten Newcastle, Huddersfield, Bournemouth, or Burnley. They are/were teams around us. Optimism is fine but a bit of realism says it is highly unlikely we will stay up.

Thing is, we could easily have taken something extra from three out of the four of these games. Admittedly, we didn't but weren't outplayed and are as good as these teams, and some of the others around us. Still all to play for.
