Power is a great show I'd recommend and is on Netflix - It's about a night club owner who is also secretly a big-time drug dealer, but has a great storyline
Shooter and Suits are two more of my favourites - also on Netflix. The story of shooter originally follows the same lines as the Mark Wahlberg film, but then extends beyond that.
Agree on that , watched it since season 1 , great series .. Also to the poster who asked about Ozark, yes very highly recommend it anyway my current list of series etc I'm watching. Dark Matter (although its now been cancelled the 3 seasons were great and it should not be cancelled) Killjoys - (Lead actress actually grew up in Anlaby and went to Kirkella Primary school) Power Salvation Zoo Fear the Walking Dead The Strain The Last Ship ...
All this Mayhem - its about two of the greatest Vert Skateboarders Orphan Black - starts of brilliant ... but does lose its way in season 5 Ozark - i loved this OA - a bit wierd but the mood and cinematography is really good The Returned Spotless - 2 french brothers in the UK , one is asked to become a cleaner for the underworld ...
I've seen all of Banshee, a great show that nobody talks about much. Band of Brothers is definitely worth watching though I seem to remember it is a bit US centred, like a lot of WW2 films and tv. At least Dunkirk is out this year to address that one
Watched the first episode of this last night and really enjoyed it will definitely be watching more tonight.
I hate watching TV serieseseses with our lass coz ill give a show 3 episodes or so , i can get a good feel of a show by then , but no she has to suffer the whole thing , regardless ... and if i do win (season 2 of Bloodline) everytime i scroll past it i get a swalking in my lughole Which nicely brings me onto The Mist - now yeah i know its a Stephen King novel , and a quite decent movie remakde in around 2007 , but the writers then, decided on a Series with noodle thin substance. The things affecting the locals in the show are interesting , how things collapse etc , but the storywriting was very cliched as if it was done by the students right after a class. There were countless thread diverging from the main point and none of them were interesting , for all the fluff there was no reason to care about anyones survival , even a clearly rushed flashback episode around ep7 didnt make me like the main group , The experimental doctor could have been more than a one episode idea too , he could have been a good side story making stretching the show to 10 episodes a joy . 4/10 and i will have to watch season two :/ :/
I couldn't get into it (Ozark) Watched the first episode and didn't really care about any characters Might be just the fact it has to set the scene so I might stick with it a bit I suppose
What can you say about band of brothers?? It is absolutely ****ing brilliant. The action scenes are superb but for me it is how the different characters interact, the friendships and when some of them are killed how each one reacts, this is tv at its utmost best... I watched it when it was on telly, then went out and bought the tin box set, I've seen it 4-5 times. I will be watching it next month. Bloody brilliant !!!! I'm into season 3 of "The walking dead" this is very good also.... also at season 2 of "Vikings" not as good as i was led to believe but still very watchable
Never watched it I had the DVD box set for ages when someone leant me it and I still never got round to watching it War programmes never really appeal to be honest, although I suspect I'll be told I made a mistake?
The most important thing is that it's about 90% true. Incredible to think that some of this stuff happened almost exactly like shown. You made a mistake.
Walking Dead is a personal favourite but you have to put up with a few duff episodes every now and then and a couple of characters that can grate on you like Carol. Quillski makes a good point about Band of Brothers in how it is so historically accurate, and I suppose it would have been hard for the producers to work in all the nations involved in DDAY into a show about a US batallion
Where can you watch it? Is it streamed or is it a dvd job? Wasn't it on Sky Atlantic? Or am I getting mixed up The Pacific?
