I watched Treme on one of the streamers and like Den says, the music is tremendous. I remember binging it at the time, which was a while ago and absolutely loved it.
I know it wasn't on Sky where Red says it is now because I only had Sky for a few months before I saw the light and got rid. I probably saw it on one of those early dodgy streamers before all the main ones popped up.

Get Carter, BBC2 last night, written by a bloke from Barton who went to Hull Art School.

That sounds good, I like grittily realistic cop shows. Presumably a frequent storyline is where they raid the wrong address and shoot someone's dog.

My old man was from Barton and went to school with Ted Lewis who wrote the book it was based on ‘Jack’s Return Home’. I think my Dad was a year or two older but they were in the same group of mates out of school.
I met him a few times in later life.

Hull, along with Grimsby were among places considered for it to be set before they settled on Newcastle.

One of my favourite films but never knew the history of the writer. Links to Nick Triplow, Hull Noir and the the Lincs poet/writer Henry Treece too. Amazing what I find on this message board. Cheers.

Henry Treece was my Dad’s teacher at Barton Grammar and he always credited him with having a major impact on his outlook on life.

Apple TV has some of the best 'box sets'. The best series ever, in my opinion, even topping Mad Men, is Pachinko. The first season was glorious -- the second is proving equally as good. And then they had Ted Lasso, Acapulco and Slow Horses. A stunning line-up of series. But Pachinko should not be missed.

Good news for the younger generations. Reruns of Crossroads are carrying a trigger warning so they won’t be offended. So they can decide not to watch and be traumatised by what we used to watch at tea time.

The beginning wouldn't have flowed as well, if he'd had to get off at Doncaster, wait for a couple of hours for the connecting train to Hull and then got called a bastard, by the employee pushing the drinks trolley, for trying to pay for a coffee with a five pound note.

Absolutely loved ted lasso, in my top 3 series of all time. Slow horses new series starts in 2 days, that is also a cracking watch for anyone that hasn’t previously seen it.

If you liked Ted Lasso, and haven’t tried Acapulco yet, I’d give it a spin. Similar heart-warming feel good factor and gentle humour. Yes, looking forward very much to the new Slow Horses.

I think it was on Netflix or something similar, years ago, but didn’t stay on for long.

I didn't really like Ted Lasso , not sure if that puts me in a small minority

I really enjoyed Slow Horses though
