Just started “ after the flood “ looks pretty good, 6 episodes I’ll re-visit this after watching them all… But so far, so good.
Tip: Don't even attempt to watch Season 2 There is a new spin off with Berlin, also, but reviews are not particularly glowing.
According to this the Horizon system started life as a benefits payment system, it didn't work properly so Fujitsu palmed it off on the Post Office instead! Gets worse every day! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-61020075
Hello Mods, sorry to bump this thread with yet more Post Office shenanigans, perhaps time for it's own thread? Anyway.. Fujitsu have now admitted to flaws in their system. "admitted the company had known the IT system was faulty since the 1990s" He said Fujitsu knew that the Horizon system was flawed at the time that the firm was supporting the Post Office in prosecuting more than 700 post office operators. “Fujitsu would like to apologise for our part in this appalling miscarriage of justice. We were involved from the very start. We did have bugs and errors from the start and we did help the Post Office with prosecutions of subpostmasters.” Sorry all, I have to vent my spleen about this somewhere. They just sat there and said nothing, did nothing. And now "apologise"????? Apologise? Words fail.
Both the current Post Office chief executive and the current Head of Fujitsu Europe were infront of the select committee today. Absolutely pathetic. They both took the line 'I've only been in place since 2019, I don't know anything before that date', in answer to every question of substance, whilst bleating about how terrible it all was and how sorry they were. Cynical and contemptuous.
‘American Nightmare’ documentary on Netflix is compulsive viewing. It concerns a young American couple who are attacked in their Californian home and the female is kidnapped. The police, media and public are sceptical and believe it to be a hoax. It is only when a similar ‘home invasion’ is reported that opinions begin to change!
Really liking “ Grace “… I’m at the second series, only 1 left, after this I’m not sure what to watch but no doubt I’ll find something…..
Just watched Season 5 of Fargo this week. My recall on earlier seasons is a little hazy but I think this is by far the best yet. Totally standalone seasons as well, so you don't need to watch first 4 seasons. New cast each season. As always, the distinctive accents might seem a bit odd when you first watch. You get used to it quickly though and it is one of the more endearing aspects of the series. Leading cast members in season 5 are: Juno Temple - Keeley in Ted Lasso (that was wierd for a few seconds) Jennifer Jason Leigh Jon Hamm (most recently Gabriel in Good Omens S02) but as in Season 1 and 2 the hitman steals the most interesting character award. Watched it all between episodes 9 and 10 of Reacher and it ranks higher in my opinion (barely though).
Spectacular example of confirmation bias with coppers only looking for evidence to prove what they already suspected. Whole thing relied on one copper who seemed like she’d chased a lot up in her own time of the poor buggers would still be believed to be lying about a horrendous incident Worth watching as you say
Doesn't Season 2 of Reacher only have 8 episodes? I watched last one last night and I'm sure it was no. 8?
