I just tried to watch Annika on BBC, I thought episode one was poor and having watched episode 2 it doesn't get any better. I always liked Nicola Walker as an actress, but this one just doesn't cut it with me.
I bloody loved it, no two see the same thing lol I was a bit 50/50 at the first episode but as number six, the last episode finished, I was hoping for a second series. I’m writing a crime novel and if for some inexplicable reason it was made into a film she would definitely be my first choice for chief superintendent Cross.
Watched The Days last week, the real-life story of the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan in 2011. It was made by Netflix Japan and as with most Chinese and Japanese series/films, it’s rather overacted, but it gets better the longer it goes on. It’s interesting for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it shows how formal and polite the Japanese are, even during a crisis and for those who’ve never been to Japan, they really are like this. Secondly, it shows how close they came to the biggest nuclear disaster of all time and effectively the end of Tokyo. Recommended.
This week I watched Fubar, which is apparently the most watched programme on Netflix in the U.K. at the moment. **** knows why, it’s a load of nonsense. Arnold Schwarzenegger is a top CIA field agent (despite being 75) as is his daughter (who’s young enough to be his granddaughter). Neither know the other is a top CIA agent until they bump into each other on assignment, they then bicker their way through eight episodes of blowing **** up and killing all the baddies. If you like a comedy action series with irritating characters and a **** storyline, then this is for you. Though Arnies daughter is fairly hot.
Talking of whom ... saw an Netflix advertisement last week including an Arnie documentary, think the launch was yesterday. On my 'to watch list'.
