I don't think it's needed. We get it. A clandestine group of mega wealthy people are using people as sport and entertainment. I personally think it's better to leave it at that.
I won't. I've developed a real knack in recent years of bailing out on series' before they get rubbish and taint my enjoyment.
Yeah he's great . I liked him in Fargo can't remember which series he was in though played a police officer
I thought that the conversations with the victims were heartbreaking. I've mentioned before that back around 1980, I was told by a nurse at Stoke Mandeville that her and a number of her colleagues refused to go to the hospital when Savile was there, because of his pervy behaviour, including in the morgue. No action was taken against him by the seniors it was reported to, but the staff were allowed to change shifts whenever he was there, which speaks volumes. I appreciate things were different back then, which is why the vicitms felt as they did, but if a nomark in Hull was aware of his unacceptable behaviour back then, I refuse to believe that nobody in any of the institutions he infested knew, or that he was the only one at it. The BBC 'outrage' after things became public rings very, very hollow to me.
I watched it last night with a mixture of horror and total bemusement. The bemusement was how the hell did he ingratiate himself into such high echelons of society. We had prince Charles and other royals asking for his advice on how to interact with normal people when he was that far from normal it’s untrue. The horror was for the poor unfortunate people who became his victims ,their testimonies were heartbreaking .I am now sixty so that pervert was part of my childhood tv watching but I can honestly say that as a ten year old boy watching a fella in his forties in short shorts and bedecked like a Christmas turkey their was definitely alarm bells going off in my head though unsure why . I now know why ,truly grim watching a been said .
I’ve not got to that bit yet. But watching that about the holes in the roof and water dripping down on the patients Savile gets involved and things happen quickly. It’ll In that less tech age were there were only the bbc and itv and the papers he was portrayed as such a good doer of deeds and a lovable eccentric. Must have been easier than now to get away with it
Okay, I'm a cynic, but it did leave me pondering why some people seemed eager to donate millions when Savile asked. I wonder if he had some leverage on them?
Well there is that. Certainly been the hiding place for a lot of sick individuals the beeb and parliament. He was a psychopath and a predator and I suppose he had that sixth sense to see others of a similar ilk?
I've been watching Murder in the Badlands on the BBC, really shocking how the RUC in NI brushed murders under the carpet. Many of them have nothing to do with the troubles in the sense of the victims, but in many cases, the suspect has some connection with the police, be it an informer, who seemed to have used that as cover to get away with murder.
Don't forget there were the issues around the Kincora Boys Home that have some links, and I reckon that's just the one we know about.
Just found Dream Team and the exploits of Harchester United on my IpTv 24/7 Channel and my week working at home has turned into a disaster . Only so many times I can claim to be waiting for people to get back to me before I have to admit I’m 4 seasons , 3 chairman and 5 managers down
The magnificent mrs maisel absolutely brilliant, every character is a top comedian, too many to list. 5 hilarious series well worth a watch…
Nine perfect strangers was far better than I thought. I made up my mind it was some poncey purple hair carrot crunching crap… how wrong I was. On the third episode and really enjoying it, even Melissa Mccartney ( apologies for the miss spelling) who I normally despise with a passion is actually not bad. Nicole Kidman gets better with age, either that or I’m getting less picky as I get older lol. We’ll worth a watch….
Who turns out to be Roary. Plenty of lots of little “only if yer from ‘Ull” moments, prepared to gloss over the “Hull FC” mistake as long as there’s no more mixing up of sports.
